  1. I also suggested that Presenting Burton Greene should be reissued and that the tapes, if they exist, of Sunny Murray's Columbia session should see the light of day...
  2. Would LOVE to see this one along with a reissue of Forms and Sounds WITH the original artwork Yes, the Dixon needs to be accessible (legally) to more people. It's a classic.
  3. I would not call this an incredible list of items. Decent if it were in a new arrivals bin in a local store, but...
  4. Meh. Or were you asking me?
  5. Clarke-Boland Sextet - Music for the Small Hours - (Rearward reissue)
  6. 'cept Plant isn't a "major rock guitarist"...
  7. Mint +++ must equal triple-sealed?
  8. Mats is Swedish and fwiw, not usually what I'd call a "weak link."
  9. Johnny Griffin - The Little Giant - (Jazzland mono) $7 the other day, so I guess not a bad deal and replacing an OJC.
  10. I have or have had most of the catalog. Lots of good stuff in there - can vouch for the Bernardo Sassettis, Paulo Curado, Dennis Gonzalez, Trio Vriditas, Whit Dickey, Paal Nilssen-Love, Elliott Levin, Scott Fields, Otomo Yoshihide, Ravish Momin, Alipio C Neto, Herb Robertson, Joe Morris, Braxton...
  11. Hipnosis. It's "pretty good."
  12. Double yikes!
  13. Congrats! Got the disc yesterday and it is really strong, wild stuff.
  14. Mal Waldron - A Little Bit of Miles - (Freedom/Black Lion) trio w/ Pierre Courbois (d) and Henk Haveroek (b)
  15. Least interesting? Really? No problems with him in the CBBB myself! And the Realm LP The Band Live at Ronnie Scott's is a corker!
  16. Maybe it's Jean-Francois Beck (hence Jef) and we've got the wrong guy!
  17. Actually, the martial stuff is based on traditional music of Senegal, and the more singsong themes are Mbalax-derived. So there you go. Emusic doesn't have liner notes, does it? Great record.
  18. Happy Birthday, Bob James on ESP!
  19. I mostly like spam so I'm glad we have some of that here too.
  20. Times like these are great to familiarize myself with the great records I already have, rather than constantly dragging new things into the house. So do I, listening my existing collection. If I consider my age and the free time I have for listening music, I probably will never listen to any of my records more then a dozen of times. Am I missing something? I just spent $$$ on a couple of pieces...
  21. I "second" that one. The next time I see Lou; I'm going to bring this up.....surely it will stand out....even in his mind! m~ Too lazy to look up that old thread, but would love to see it again for the laffs and good cheer!
  22. Happened with a sealed Horo once.
  23. Wrong. These were cut from the masters by Ron McMaster at Capitol Mastering a few months back. It sure seems like people just like to bitch. "Blue Note stopped making LPs! Waah." "Blue Note is making LPs again! Bah." Make up your minds. These are Blue Note's best selling titles. If they want to find out what the LP market's like, these are the titles to use. If these can't sell, there's no way they're cutting a Tyrone Washington date. Kevin But why so many different variations? We've got: Classic $30 a pop Hoffman $50 These $20 things with CDs or MP3s included $10 cheapies that I always assumed were some Scorpio-licensed lower-rung wax. And many of the same titles in each!
  24. Great stuff on there, even if the twofer isn't collectible.
