  1. Can't wait. Still haven't made it thru all of Devlin' Tune's 36 discs!
  2. I'll be looking forward to being privy to the guitar-flute duets he'll be playing with Prince Lasha in the sky. The only thing about death that's good is the orchestra one will hear before the lights go out.
  3. Is that one on CD? I remember the existence of a bootleg LP but never saw a copy.
  4. Yeah, all I got was what was in the interview at AAJ. I got the feeling that he really liked it over in the UK and that Insight was one of his favorite records. Of course, one of mine too - thankfully it'll be reissued, if I am not mistaken.
  5. That's correct - I believe it's a Fresh Sound pressing from the 1980s. Sounds pretty good too ! (Paid about £3 for it) I think mine was somewhere about that mark when it came out. MG Hah! Just dug mine out. Clifford's right. Mine was issued by EMI-Odeon SA, Madrid, but there's a sticker on it saying "reissued and distributed by Fresh Sound Records". And the label says "Fabricado en Espana by Discos CBS SA". But it's also got a little JASRAC logo on it, which was Japanese, I think. Yeah, that's exactly what mine looks like. Got it for about $8 this weekend. Love me some "Minor Meeting."
  6. OH NO. I hadn't talked to him in about a year and was meaning to call him for a belated birthday wish. He was a friend and we had many great conversations about music, life and spirituality. He would even call up my then-girlfriend (this was about 2005) and wish her well and tell her to keep supporting my writing. What a dear, dear man and a great loss. I'll miss you, Peasant Prince - from "Allen's Alley."
  7. Yeah, I used to have Interplay w/ Hall, Hubbard, etc. on LP but it left some time ago. Remember liking it.
  8. The cover's kinda jacked though, don't you think? I wish that Duke Pearson on Polydor were cleaner - I might bid on it.
  9. Happy Birthday, Sangrey! I'll get the beer next time you make it to Austin...
  10. Lawrence Marable - Tenorman - (Jazz West, reissue) w/ James Clay, Sonny Clark, Jimmy Bond. This is some Spanish EMI reissue from the 1980s.
  11. What does that set go for in reissue? Would like to own it.
  12. No shit. And from the scan I can see a few spindle traces, so M- my ass!
  13. Do you still own the pair? Now THAT would be hip (and collectible!)...
  14. I agree. Though some may lament that he isn't who he was in 1962 or 1970, who really is?
  15. I got mine for free years ago for helping a friend move his flat.
  16. Sabir Mateen, Matthew Heyner, David Nuss - Light Comes from the Front - Sound@One
  17. Yeah, haven't talked to Antoine in a while. And this... this again seems like a slap in the face of a "recession economy." Peckin' Time
  18. The superimposition really makes the case.
  19. I sweat getting $20 records in the post!
  20. Rumors are that a copy of this one sold for 12000 $ years ago at Paris Jazz Corner. True or false i don't know. I've seen another copy auctionned at PJC in their 2002 catalogue. Don't know how much it solds eventuelly. But given the hysteria that was surrounding those auctions i believe it went up very high. My plan is to try to find it at my local flea market, for around 1 €. 2 or even 3 would still be a fine price. Shit, that's nuts. I used to get those PJC catalogs but I guess they stopped producing them?
  21. Yeah, I have that on CD. It's real fine. Much rarer than any BN!
  22. Atomic is on a roll as usual, and this is perhaps MORE obnoxious... Acid Test
  23. I don't know whether it's going to Japan or the EU, but either way, shit's expensive! Parlan US 3
