  1. The drummer is rather bombastic, but the tenor player is pretty great. Fusion-y, in the "British" sense.
  2. Can also give this one a !
  3. Larry Young - Heaven On Earth - (BN Liberty orig)
  4. I don't know if that's been proven, or if anybody has any idea how long they will actually last. 100 years? We're not even there yet.
  5. What you say has the ring of truth, Chris. My first thought upon reading your prognostication was that people would want to collect "hard copies". But upon reflection, I think the audio fidelity will have something to do with it too, just as 50s LPs are sought after, while 80s LPs are not. Just to clarify, a lot of '80s LPs - especially in the punk and post-punk genres (not to mention 45s) - are quite collectible and rare. CDs have been collectible for a while now, especially some of the Japanese discs which are limited and almost instantly OOP.
  6. Was it Baystate that also put out the Solo Max LP? I've never heard that, but it looks major.
  7. Hank Mobley - Workout - (BN Liberty stereo)
  8. I was never willing to pay more than $40 for this. Guess that's why I don't have it...
  9. Hank Mobley - Hi-Voltage - (BN Liberty stereo)
  10. Stay tuned at AAJ.com for my lengthy Barry Altschul interview... indeed his first as a leader is smokin'! I thought somebody in Japan reissued those CBS sides on CD, but maybe I'm wrong. They are great as well.
  11. Bobby Hutcherson - Dialogue - (BN Liberty stereo)
  12. I think a surprising amount of people do. I don't see a lot of love for Circle, even among avowed "free jazz" heads. Can't understand why.
  13. Bill Dixon - Intents & Purposes - (RCA-Victor stereo orig)
  14. PM sent on the Sonny Clark and the Cecil.
  15. Noah Howard - The Black Ark - (Polydor/Freedom orig)
  16. Joe Fonda Ensemble - Looking for the Lake - (Alacra) Anthony Braxton - The Complete Braxton - (Intercord/Freedom)
  17. OK, I'm glad they're "out there" but I really can't listen to their music.
  18. Wow, that's pretty fantastic. Can't think that I've had a score that nice!
  19. Curious about that one as well.
  20. Double vinyl LP, bought years ago.
  21. ...that is, unless you like that band already, which I do. I've got those LPs (as well as Song of Singing) and would be into a Select.
  22. That would be an cylinder reissue, no?
