  1. Just got mine too. Very nice notes, as well as photos by Roberto Masotti (one of my favorites).
  2. It's included on Devlin' Tune volume five, right?
  3. Bob James - Bold Conceptions - (Mercury orig green label mono)
  4. That's hilarious - hadn't seen that skit before.
  5. Welcome! Good way to start off yr relationship with the board, in the Sun Ra thread!
  6. I don't have that one, for whatever reason. Who's on it? Qbico LPs are getting very collectible: Qbico Power!
  7. It's right on the first page when I do an image search! That's f-in funny!
  8. Who wrote it changed you opinion about how it sounded? It helped swing my vote.
  9. I liked the film. Mostly where I appreciated Greenwood & Anderson's attempt with the music was in the very first scene, or at least the very first shot. I'll very quickly get in over my head on this, mostly because I don't really care about Greenwood or the score, and that (as I said), I enjoyed the film for the most part.
  10. I thought it sounded halfway decent until I realized who wrote the music... I'm not convinced Greenwood knows what he's doing.
  11. I had the Munoz LP on India Navigation and wasn't feeling it. I think I got $30 for it, but maybe it would be something I'd enjoy now. Still dig Moses' Bittersuite LP but haven't dug too much beyond that and the odd Gary Burton side.
  12. How about: R U NUTZ???!!!!!!!????? HANKS 1ST MAKE SME JIZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!! LOL
  13. I believe this is a recurring theme. This sounds vaguely... familiar.
  14. OK. Look at a Rothko canvas, particularly a later one. There will likely be a few closely-valued hues that make up the color field. There are subtle variations between the areas of color, but that is not the same as repetition & variation of a theme (color, shape, size) on mathematical principles (or the illusion of such). The latter is one way to define "serial." That's usually the definition applied to minimal art. Minimal music - Reich, early Glass, Gibson - adheres mostly to that second principle. It's more in keeping with the visual art of say, Sol Lewitt or Carl Andre. Feldman's music is analogous to what I'm saying about Rothko.
  15. Ever check some of those Sunny vids from You Tube? You bet he's fuckin' loud... Though ironically the few times I've seen him have been toned down.
  16. Good to know; mine still has a few years left. I think it's number three.
  17. Christ he sounds like John.
  18. I get mine for free.
  19. Yet it also reminded me of the obnoxious post I wrote above yours!
  20. Feldman is like Steve Lacy - beyond category. Feldman's music is gradated but not serial. (I mean "serial" in terms of minimal art, not in terms of serial music)
  21. I'll bet it comes in really cute wrapping paper!
  22. $6000 is just obnoxious.
  23. Not a fan of Lanquidity myself. Cosmos was on Cobra originally, right? I don't have that one. The Horos are great, though I've never actually owned them (or been willing to pay the price to).
  24. I would like to check out those books he recently had published. Corbett was a reader/advisor on my MA thesis, but I haven't talked with him in a while. He's doing the gallerist thing, and seems to be having a successful go of it.
