Uncanny likeness ! Patrick Moore is one of those guys who is an institution in the UK. He was getting on a bit when I first saw him on TV in the 1960s and he has carried on going like an energizer bunny. Ex-Queen guitarist (and astronomer) Brian May is a big fan of his and I recall that his back-garden telescope and home survived a tornado which hit his home on Selsey Bill some years ago in a freek incident. BBC4 also did a tribute night for him quite recently in advance of the 50-th aniversary of the 'Sky at Night' show. A 'happening' sort of guy !

Marshall Allen's comments in the article are interesting. It would seem that even he was totally lost at times with Ra's music. Wonder what he actually put in that 'moon stew'?

Those CD twofers from some years back ('Soul of Ben Webster' and 'Music For loving') were jam packed full of great music. Excellent value too, I recall.

I thought that this current edition was quite pricey at £100 but the 'collectors edition' is through the roof ! Seem to recall that my 'Jazz Seen' (signed by Mr Claxton) was about $30

True ! I think they have listed in the past the Dean Benedetti Parker ( ) and given it 4 stars ( ) and there's also a short para on who Mosaic are in the intro section. Doesn't Brian Morton also review CDs for the 'Jazz Review' though?
