Wear a robust helmet too!

I am sorry, neveronfriday, but you were too slow. Jazzbo and I just sent a letter with your photo and address to a P.O. Box in Tijuana where a guy known as the Vacuumer will collect it. Unfortunately we already payed half the contract to a trust account at the Palacio Associated Bank. And Vacuumer is a damn painstaking man. The best we can do at this point, is asking Vacuumer to finish the job on Saturday.

Up some additions Byrd, Dorham. -
Exactly! And some 'dance/techno/whatever' music needs just the highest level of compression in order to be 'appreciated'.
-
One mention, almost in passing: "To many expert ears, compressed music files produce a crackly, tinnier and thinner sound than music on CDs and certainly on vinyl." This is true to some degree, yes, but it seems most "experts," when they make this claim, listen to 128 kbps files using old codecs that did sound bad... but have been greatly improved over the years. I now have a hard time distinguishing even 192 kpbs files, though I usually rip at even higher quality just to be safe. There's no doubt that listening to CDs and LPs on a good home stereo system is better than mp3 files on an iPod or boombox, but mp3 files per se don't need to sound bad. I'm more concerned and find more fault in maximized/overly compressed mastering these days - now that crushes all life out of the music imo. Agree, though the fact that today most of the people don't listen to music 'per se', but as a background, (or as 'soundtrack' if one wish to be more gentle and poetic) strengthen the 'compression's' route. The very same compression applied in broadcasting movies over here, where the steps on the falled leaves and the byrd's singing have the very same db level then 'Saving Private Ryan's opening sequence.

Maybe he's just a guy with a huge debt trying to cook his financial situation in order to get some loan from IMF. -
Actually I knew that, I was asking myself if I could buy only the two solo sessions, since I already have the others on vinyl.
-
Does anybody know if the solo riverside sessions have been issued in vinyl in Japan, I suspect they are issued in US by Fantasy in 1995.

UP, Amy addedd, SALE prices, and the euro is sinking... -
I didn't see the imagine Allen posted, so I can't comment it. Allen's complain is definitely legit, so the lack of answer from moderators is frankly disappointing. Locking the thread is the wrongest thing one could do in a 'democratic' place like this forum.

It might rise the prices in the stores...

At least, we are worth of a documentary, like those endangered (and admittedly useless and reactionary) things like coral-reef organisms, sloths and artic foxes. http://blog.stereophile.com/stephenmejias/to_have_to_hold/

mono or stereo? Blue Notes from Classic Records and/or Analogue Prods.
porcy62 replied to hard bop head's topic in Audio Talk
It could make some sense, whatever one think about 'mono maniacs' A fold down at mixing stage adds tape's hiss and noise, like any further generation of analog tapes, a 'sum' of the amp 'mix' togheter the distortion of both channel of the cartdridge's tracking. And the shift of phase. Though I never did any test about the issue, and probably I'll never do. -

Wayne Shorter - Adam's Apple - BN, Liberty, stereo. Listening to it after a long time. He was such a great writer, it make me rethink at how much Miles' quintet is due to Shorter's tunes.
