You're wrong -
Mozart Sacred Music, Davis/LSO, Philips box set. It still has the sticker "4 records for £7", I payed it 10 euros in mint condition a couple of years ago. I never experienced the desire to buy new CD of classical music.

Haydn Piano Trios, Beaux Arts Trio, Philips box set.

Thanks! I just robbed a liquor store for the  -
Up! I am going to buy a bike, after the new motorbike that I should get this week. My main purpose for it isn't exercize, I do a lot of it in my aikido classes. I thought I should minimize my personal CO2 impact, and have some fun too. Though Roma isn't exactly a bike's friendly place: lots of traffic and lots of hills, remember the Rome's seven hills, I live exactly on the top of one of them, and the roads aren't really good, like Paris-Roubaix, more or less. I went to a local shop and I found this one: Cannondale Quick CX. Has anybody experienced this bike?

Thanks. The reason I usually sell my old beloved bikes, when I get a new one is exactly that: looking at them in the garage I got that unconfortable feeling of looking at a dog on leash, they deserve riding.

I just order a new bike: a BMW R 1200 GS ADVENTURE, color yellow. I should get it next week. A bit sad because I sold my old BMW R 1150 R, after 80.000 km together. I'd have stick with it, still love and like this one, but I am getting older. It hadn't a real good wind shield, the suspensions I mounted, Ohlins, were a bit too "racing oriented" and hard, (I know that you HD riders are use to no suspensions. ) and the loading was an hassle: the lateral bags were small, so for every long trip I had to add two bags that were not locked at the bike. That is a pain in the ass because when one stops for coffee one has to check it the luggage for thieves. And this summer I suffered some back and neck pains because of the set up of the old bike. I definitely need something more confortable for riding.

Apple, the computer, not the label.

It's not cheaper, Avid prices collapsed when FCP became reliable, they was forced to adopt a "open" market policy, selling stand alone boards, audio and video, and software, instead of the overpriced "all" packet, software, computer, boards, monitors, storage disks, etc. Anyway Apple was the only that developed a professional system, Adobe and Microsoft died on the road. Personally I am used to Avid and I think it's still the better system around, but FCP is close. -

I don't think MAC is "better" then PC a priori. I have seen both machines in high tech applications. I do think that MAC OS and interface are better for what I usually do with a computer, including video editing at broadcast level. The most common software for film and video editing, AVID, was born on Apple, then a Windows version followed and all the major studios adopted it because PC hardware was cheaper. It was such a nightmare for years, I was forced to work with old OS's, (Windows) because any, and I mean any, new version of Windows OS had tons of bugs: directors don't pay 100 bucks per hour for watching me trying to solve the problems caused by Microsoft's poor engineering: install drivers, delete drivers, reinstall drivers, delete again the very same drivers, get new drivers that fix the bug. Now if you pay specific computer technicians, system managers, etc in order to get all the things running, PC is fine: cheaper, most powerful and you can assemble the hardware as you like, but Microsoft OS's...man sometimes they got a good one but they replaced it superfast for marketing reasons. -

Ah, the old twoofer, love this series, over here costed two LPs for the price of one, my schoolmates brooked the money-box and got a single album of Genesis, I got two Miles Davis'!

That is the reason because most good guys became Mac fundamentalists 5-10 years ago. -

Just add that Apple showed to all computer manufacturers that a computer could be "designed". I know that a ugly computer isn't a big problem in office, but at home, when you spent $$$$ for furnitures, wall papers and wood block floor, a dull plastic box in the living room is definitely depressing. -
String quartets by contemporaries of Beethoven

I have the Boccherini quartets and they are good, though Ludwig Van is another level, expecially the late quartets -
Whatever one can think about Steve Jobs, the high prices, etc. It's the incarnation of the user friendly concept. When I bought the new iMac, the migration from my old Apple laptop was smooth and fast and I didn't lost a single file, nor a configuration. Yesterday I bought an external back up disk and again everything was easy and superfast with firewire 800. Now that's a useful machine: real plug and play. I don't spend a minute on the set up, configuring it, all my time on Apple computers is working time. If you consider that time is money, at the end Apple is cheaper then other systems IMHO. And I didn't get a single virus or intrusion from internet in 15 years!!

oh well...it's only rock'n roll but I like it, yes I do...

Regarding "no terrific album" in 40 years the same could be said of Sonny Rollins. And you could just say the opposite: there are musicians who have put out only a "terrific album", even just a couple of terrific tracks, and nothing more. So the influence and the importance of a terrific album/tracks or a longstanding career, outstanding in case of the RS IMHO, may be compared as well.

Can you listen to music with an MP3? I though it was the protocol droid of Star Wars.
