  1. Put some hot pepper on the shoes, the cat will stop.
  2. Who else is on the record with him?
  3. Since it appears no one was doing the AOTW this week, I jumped in and selected: Count Basie- Sing Along with Basie.
  4. Well if no one is doing one, I will select Count Basie- Sing along with Basie.
  5. So, even IN the obvious, it was better in Paris.
  6. Does she say it tastes like chicken? Everything always tastes like chicken.
  7. From the looks of it, the catalog number SP.418 makes me believe they must have put out a number of albums on the Sears Label. First time I ever seen anything from Sears.
  8. If no one wants to do it, I can quickly do one.
  9. Thanks, Lucky? Maybe
  10. Anyone know where I can pick up a copy of this record? I don't think it ever made it to CD.
  11. t appears that only 3 of 4 of his albums are still in print.

    Frank Wess

Anyone know if he's still playing? Kind of up there in age. Listening to Gene Ammon's Angel Eyes and I am digging his flute playing. He also plays Tenor Sax.
  13. Beats always having to go in the back doors at clubs in the States, or having to find a hotel that would allow you to say at it. You could eat where you want, not just places for blacks. There are other reason too. The music was treated as a true art form. Not to say it didn't have some of that here in the United States, but most of Europe see jazz as a true art form.
  14. If the company is closed, such as tomorrow, why is that coming out of your pocket, you should be paid. How about weekends? You get those off?
  15. Jackie was one. Never would think he is in his 70's. Blew like crazy Thursday and Saturday nights.
  16. I asked at the door if I can snap a few pictures before they start playing. I was told, just don't use any flash, which I didn't. Anyway, the music was great.
  17. So this the thread to get your post fix. I'm use to driving up to a corner to get my fix.
  18. Trying so hard for my wife to let me go a third time. Trying for Sunday at 8. She thinks I need to go into a 12 step program from this. The only way I stop seeing so much live jazz, is if I didn't live so close to NYC.
  19. That is a great tune. I wish they would have played that one. Still a great show.
  20. Where about do you live? Here in South Carolina there are millions this year. When they all start singing at one time it is one long sound throughout the day. He lives ...seventh left after the Akashic records, third stone after the light.
  21. Brad Mehldau once stopped during his solo (Rossy & Grenadier played on), and made gestures of hitting the photographer... (that was at a concert around 2001, I think). ubu Let me pose this question, which I once heard Gerry Mulligan raise when he was asked about audiences and their behavior (he was referring to talking in the audience while the artist played) .... "Would people do that to Horowitz?" So, are jazz musicians any lesser musical artists, or do they fall into the "entertainer" category, and thus subject to intrusions into their artistic experience? They weren't playing. Just putting the charts on the music stands.
  22. Now that's what I call working to live, and not living to work.
  23. I was thinking the same thing when I read the post!! That's total. So if I take 20 days off, that's it for the year. You guys don't get at least 2 weeks vacation.
  24. More. Another bad photo. This time of Rene
  25. Yeah, true. Someone else asked him and he said no to him. It was a good 30 minutes or more before they went on tonight. He was just putting his sax and sheet music on the stage.
