  1. Um. Could you possibly work in the word "fuck" and all of its derivations a hundred more times? Just askin'. I just can't get enough of insanely limited monosyllabic and completely idiotic discourse.
  2. High 90s and 100s here. Muggy last week. Ugh.
  3. OK. It's official: Giants suck. Grrrrr
  4. Yeah, but Kenny wasn't. Ay, there's the rub.
  5. What a crock! And btw, I'm a Kiwi living in Australia. It's confusing. Who, in your estimation, qualifies to be a true fan? Only those with Latino or European blood in their veins? Please explain ... Hm. Who, in your esteemed estimation, is qualified to offer an opinion on piss poor ref'ing and rampant player cheating? People with eyes?
  6. Soccer cheating that’s really unsportsmanlike By Martin Rogers, Yahoo! Sports JOHANNESBURG – The rules of soccer are jammed together in a long document provided by the sport’s governing body, FIFA. And nowhere, not once in 140 pages, is the word “cheating” mentioned. Given the stubborn refusal by the men in charge to admit that cheating is either a serious problem, or needs fixing, perhaps its omission should come as no surprise. 7. I always thought Girardi's triple to dead center field off Greg Maddox was the key hit in that World Series. I was drinking a bottle of Widmer Hefeweizen when the Yankees won that Series. I still have the bottle cap. Dan, Listen to yourself. Last year at this time you would have killed for Varitek to break his foot. Shazzam.
  8. Soccer practice, what...are you kidding me? So bleeding is the only emergency? Seriously? My emergencies involve kids passing out, fighting after school, reporting abuse, breaking up gang altercations, consoling a kid in tears, drug/alcohol use, parents pitching a nutty, health issues and general pandemonium. But I'm made to wait. Oh, that's fair.
  9. Bottom line is doctors only care about their overbooked schedule...not yours. What importance can there be about our jobs? We don't matter. We are just the patients. We are there just to serve them. Heavens forbid we should ask for an appointment after our work hours. What fools we are Like we don't? Oh, no of course. I keep forgetting we patients don't matter. What was I thinking?
  10. Seems to me if the doctor expects you to be on time [and some charge you if you're late], then he needs to be on time or pretty damn close. Strange as it may seem, we patients have job responsibilities, too.
  11. File this under Be Careful For What You Wish For. Apparently, I wasn't clear enough about who needed to be on the receiving end of a sweep. The Giants never got off the bus Wednesday...and now they trade Molina for a pitcher??? Um, HUH? The Gigantes need bats not pitchers. What an embarrassing homestand. In short, screw the Dodgers and their arrogant fans. Twice. Grrrr.
  12. He was off his go-to pitches. No injury...just a bad day. My son and I will be there for the Wednesday game against the [hated] Dodgers. We can only hope for a sweep. I'll wave to you, Dan.
  13. Congrats Dan for your guys taking the weekend series against my Giants, 2-1. Good luck the rest of the way; BEAT the damn Yankees!
  14. Makes it easier to cheat teams out of goals. The president of FIFA is the only reason they won't go to instant replay, according to ESPN's Tommy Smyth.
  15. I'll leave the "research" to you. But I don't think I ever said officiating in general is without its faults. That, however, is an entirely different thing than claiming all world competitions since Stalin have been rigged against the U.S. Just off the top of my head, and without doing any "research," I believe the U.S. has led the medal count in the last few Olympics. How does that happen under this international conspiracy of yours? A nice run in this tournament by the U.S. squad. Looks like it's about over now though. Congratulations to Ghana. Nobody is offering any conspiracy theory, but bias clearly exists. The Stalin point was an obvious exaggeration, a hyperbole. But if your evidence is that the US has been leading in the medal count at the Olympics, you may want to consider that Russia no longer has control over those former Soviet Bloc countries whose athletes competed under the Russian flag. This would not be the case if the Soviet Bloc was still intact. Congrats to Ghana...a great play on their part in extra time. Meanwhile, England sure got screwed in the 1st half of their loss to Germany. BTW...Tommy Smyth on ESPN2 was supporting the use of Instant Replay if only to determine if a goal scored or not.
  16. OK. So, um...when do the Giants actually start hitting with runners in scoring position? In my lifetime? Grrrr
  17. Dan, Thank you to your BoSox for sweeping the [hated] Dodgers. Job well done
  18. In dramatic fashion, no less! How could that be? I thought this thing was rigged against the USA? I couldn't watch the game, unfortunately. But a great achievement for the U.S. team. I guess they could get Germany next? Still to be determined. Plan to watch one of the later games. Australia vs. Serbia looks like the better match, yes? Oh c'mon....be serious once. That goal at the end was so incredibly obvious the refs couldn't overturn it. How pathetic is that? The goal has to be so incredibly obvious before the International refs won't find some reason to disallow it. Did you miss the first goal in the game by USA? Same old biased bullshit. Thankfully, a different outcome this time. Hey look, Man...if you really think refs/umpires do not have the power to completly alter the outcome of a game then you need to review that blown call in Detroit [Tigers] which denied the pitcher of record a no hitter. And if you further believe that ref/umps/judges haven't done so in International sports then, with all due respect, you need to do some research on that point. No kidding.
  19. Isner vs Mahut....longest tennis match in the history of the world. Amazing stuff.
  20. As to the French...they got booted and sent home flying coach. Fittingly, I believe.
  21. Cycling officials have gone after more than just Lance Armstrong. In fact, I don't think cycling officials have really gone after Armstrong at all, have they? It's been the press, hasn't it? He's never been accused by any cycling officials of anything, has he? The U.S. no-goal has not been the only bad call in this World Cup, nor certainly the history of the World Cup. You'll have to be more specific about the "going back to Josef Stalin" thing, but that seems to fall outside the scope of the World Cup. Granted. It is not the only bad call. It is the only blantantly and obviously bad call. And it was directed at the USA.Nothing new here in International sports when American athletes have been involved. The Tour de Farce has a hoplessly flawed anti-doping system and have done nothing to squelch the French press either. My point is this has been going on for decades and it is as International as the WC. It would be a strawman debate if the only focus should be on the WC officials and only the WC officals. I think once we find out what the reasons are for that call, we will discover that Mali ref is as anti-American as the French skating judge a couple Winter Olympics ago. Or the refs in that USA vs. Russia basketball game in the Summer Olympics back in the 70s.
  22. I have. The anti-American bias is abundantly clear. I disagree. The officials are soundly anti-American. The evidence is very clear since the Cold War days. Pick a sport, pick a venue, pick an IOC exclusion of American sports, pick a Tour de Farce attack on Lance Armstrong. It's all there and the WC replay is the most blatant example of anti-American bias I have ever seen. Bottom line: The International sports community has tried to cheat Americans out of legit wins since Josef Stalin. This cheating stuff is total bullshit and you know it. Prove me wrong. Go Europe
  23. BTW, Kenny...I've been here for some time now.
  24. Yeah, that must be it. The World Cup, with its long and illustrious history, is nothing more than "anti-American bullshit." Yep, the event the entire world (except for Canada and the US, although that's changing) looks forward to every four years is simply a celebration of everything un-American. I can see it now... each and every one of those 2 BILLION+ people who will watch the final will do so by burning the American flag and chanting "death to the infidels." None of them will be tuning in to watch the beautiful game, nosiree... they're just going to watch as a way to stick it to Uncle Sam one more time. Oh, and all those referees will be dancing a jig of joy in the realization that they've "cheated" the US out of the tournament. Tim, you really need to get a grip sometimes. Either use the logical side of your brain, or stay out of the deep end of any conversation regarding a topic you clearly know nothing about. Cheers, Shane Watch the replay, then preach to me about logic, Shane. Yeeeha! He's back - firing off the same post at two forums. Look, Indestructible! you just gotta join the dots. OF COURSE the World Cup is anti-American. For the very simple reasons that 1. American is the centre of the universe; and 2. American is the greatest country in the world. The US has been one of the under dog teams I've been cheering for - along with (obviously) Australia, but also NZ and all the rest of 'em. I can happily drop the US now, though, coz the cavalry's arrived! Perhaps you will read this post from that other BBS [like it matters]: Like this is the first time in WC history the Americans got screwed? C'mon, Kenny. You know better than that. My problem is this time it was so damned obvious. Like these guys don't even bother to hide the cheating anymore. The replay clearly shows two USA team players being bear hugged by the Slovac players...but this Mali ref disallows the goal? And not one explanation? Cheating by the European/International refs and judges has been going on since the Cold War days...and American athletes have been the target. Oh, sure on rare occasion some country like Ghana gets a dumb call in their favor and I didn't like the call in the German game either. But you simply cannot tell me that there isn't a decided prejudice against America and that it hasn't spilled over onto the playing field. With all due respect, Kenny....history is on my side on this issue. Beat American teams on the playing field and tell these refs to call it as fair as possible or get out of the business. Let the teams play the game and park the anti-America bullshit at the gate. That's all I'm saying, Kenny.
  25. I lost interest when the USA team got screwed out of a legit goal vs. Slovania. It is fairly obvious that the European/International refs cheat. Advantage: Anybody but America. The World Cup is anti-American bullshit. Fuck the World Cup.
