  1. The comment was withdrawn, Valerie....almost 24 hours ago. Just an error. I owned up to it. Done deal. Now chill.
  2. Finally. Glad he's having a good start...only took three seasons. Nice to have a little competition between our top starters, actually....and some wins! Meanwhile, Rowand goes yard for the third time and Romo atones for a couple bad outings, too. Prediction: Guillermo Mota will take the closer role from a very shakey Bryan Wilson. You saw it here first.
  3. That was her sister, you assclown. 'Linda Hellerman'? Isn't that supposed to be Lillian Hellman? Lynn may have had some controversial statements as well, but I stand by my post. Bertrand. My mistake. But it seems to me you could have been civil about it.
  4. Actress Lynn Redgrave has died at age 67 Comment withdrawn. It was in error.
  5. A good moderator puts the kibosh on flame wars and periodically deletes spam plus a smattering of comments or pictures deemed inappropriate. The Hoffman gorts take it a step further and tend to bring down the hammer when threads get off track. A good run-of-the-mill, so-so moderator also has the ability to check in on a forum at 11:39 EST...have a quick look around .....take note of Goodie, Agg & Allen trading a few wee bitsy minor shots.....and then say 'screw all you people and your petty squabbling, I need to catch some quality sleep time!' Allen, this is not a strategic yawn....just a snoozing sheep. OK. I see how it goes. Nothing new here. My fault for caring. Peace out.
  6. OK. I was just chewing on some taffy and my bottom left crown popped off. I'm sorry...I erroneously thought these things were supposed to be permanent. What a fool I was. Anyone else have this problem?
  7. Good point. No worry, Allen. That's Aggie's calling card: All talk, no substance. Same old same old.
  8. Nah. A good moderator applies his logic and expected behavior over an impossible grid of overly conservative expectations. That way nobody wins except the moderator. I have a fair amout of experience in this area. Trust me. Call me spoiled.
  9. Fucking Liberal. Don't you know by now that astringent conservatism is all the rage? Yet "the Dan" gets to cuss all he wants without impunity and [most assuredly] without repercussion. BWTFDIK?
  10. Hey! Matt Cain finally gets a win! Things are looking up
  11. Thats the beauty of it, like a good novel and a roller coaster. You don't know what kind of ups and downs will happen. Who thought the Giants would beat up on Halliday and then last night Todd Wellemeyer would shut down the best hitting team in the NL? As for getting swept by the Padres its just one of those things. Sometimes there are other teams you should beat that you can't for whatever reason. A couple of things to do seem certain. The Rays will score 8 runs a game every day (it just seems like every time I look they have 8 runs on the board) and who ever is the best player on the A's will get injured and who ever was the big free agent they sign will be a bust. Aside from that to quote the Yogi - "In baseball, you don't know nothing" and "It ain't the heat, it's the humility." Good point. Then Brian Wilson blows one for Lincecum a couple days ago. [heaviest of sighs] I'll just keep the Prilosec handy. Sheesh. I certainly hope so
  12. OK. My Giants beat up on the Cards over the weekend then hand Hallady [Phillies] his first loss of the year....after dropping four straight? This is going to be one strange season. I can feel it. Ugh.
  13. Old Bushmills or Jamison's? Kilbeggan, Latty. And Jamison's is owned by a French outfit now.
  14. Barry Bonds, OTOH, was suspeded for ZERO games. Personally, I think the BoSox need to give back their WS rings. Steroids enhance a player's ability to hit HRs dontcha know?
  15. Um. Are we forgetting Mannywood, Dan....? 50 game suspension, big fella.
  16. Unseasonably cool and rainy here. I LOVE it
  17. Um. Shaving is scary...?
  18. Giants get swept by the Pads. I blame Romo and his idiotic low and inside what-in-THE-hell-was-he-thinking pitch to a low and inside hitter [Mannywood] on Sunday against the [hated] Dodgers. My guys had the Mojo working, dammit! Grrrrr
  19. He did. Romo coughed up the two-run tater on an inside fastball to an inside fastball hitter. I guess this guy dosen't study the game much. Ruined a Zito pitching gem. Grrrrr
  20. Dave, Dude...Dan is pissed off 24-7/365. The BoSox are just another reason.
  21. Lincecum looked good at the plate as well as on the mound; went 3-4 with 3RBIs. Not too shabby, eh? Wellemeyer OTOH, well....I think Triple-A Fresno looms large for this BP pitcher. Prime meat for hitters. Wow.
  22. Giants vs. Dodgers this weekend. The oldest running rivalry in MLB heats up tonight!
  23. Not that it matters, but Brad Mills' son Beau attended the HS I used to work for [and still announce baseball and football games] and played baseball there. I must have announced his kid's number a hundred times or more.
  24. I'm in Los Angeles... I'm very sorry.
