Well, I am treading on thin ice here...I am very careful about what I post any more [my fault, nobody else's] and do not wish to create a negative situation. BeBop PM'd me and I shared the details with him. I won't take up any more space here except to say I have multiple-myeloma. The same cancer Tom Brokaw is battling and the one which finally got Peter Boyle. In all sincerity, if you PM me I will be happy to share my experience...or you could ask BeBop. I have occupied enough pixels on this BBS regarding my issues. And for those who still have problems with me, I am truly sorry.

The type sold by spacesavingsleeves (and some other places mentioned in this thread) enable you to see the spines. The board isn't allowing us to post jpgs these days, but if you go to this link, you can see a picture of plastic sleeves with readable spines, and this YouTube video shows how to use the sleeves. As for storage, I hope to use storage boxes as mentioned above. This would solve the slipping-and-sliding problem, and the boxes stack well on bookshelves. Label the boxes with what's inside (Jazz - A, or Kenny Burrell - Donald Byrd, etc.). Thanks, Mjzee. I appreciate it.

Having read through the most recent posts, I get the storage solutions. Great cataloging ideas, too. However, like a couple others here, I want to be able to read the spine and otherwise find/access my music without having to pull each individual CD out of the rows....which would take hours. Additionally, I have been shopping various cabinet units, but the biggest I have found [read: can afford] only holds 1400 CDs. Any ideas?

And will somebody please beat the Dodgers when the Giants win or are on an off day. Geez.
