  1. Exactly, southwest corner of 58th & 3rd. As was Coffee Connection in Boston, which had much better coffee (Au Bon Pain used to use their beans before the sale to Starbucks).
  2. Hey, I'm an antizionist flaming atheist and I identify as Jewish.
  3. I thought Arnaldur Indradason was your countryman. Interesting. For me that one and Mumbo Jumbo are his best novels.
  4. Yeah, too bad he couldn't live to see it.
  5. Foley Raymond Fol Mr. Follow Follow
  6. Rosa Luxemburg Roy Lichtenstein James Monaco
  7. Swift Boat Veterans McHenry Boatwright Bill McHenry
  8. Good film, great cast. I wonder why the phrase has gained such currency of late.
  9. ING Direct has a cafe in my work neighborhood that's pretty much a loss leader for new business evangelism. They use Peet's (only place I know of in NYC that does), and they get $1.50 for a hot or iced coffee, and I think the hot is the size of a Starbucks grande.
  10. Considering the magnitude of the crime (the officials', not Sandusky), it's backseat quarterbacking (to coin a mixed metaphor) to try to second-guess what's "petty."
  11. Think of those wins as ill-gotten gains garnered while a conspiracy was underway by the officials, and therefore subject to symbolic "reimbursement" as partial punishment for those criminal acts. Since those acts were in contravention of the NCAA code, the wins are fair game, since no action could have been taken at the time of those wins due to lack of information.
  12. Dining with Lindsay Lohan. What could be more Jewish than that?
  13. I haven't seen either, but individual films would be a red herring anyway, IMO. You have to look at the trajectory of his career/oeuvre.
  14. He's all of those (not sure how politically engaged he really is, though), but the Jewish underpinning of his "vision" is essential and undeniable.
  15. Depends on your bitrate. Here's a calculator for mp3 (interactive, nothing to download), but I'm guessing equivalent bitrate AAC files would be similar in size (I've also read that AAC needs lower bitrates to get similar quality to MP3): http://www.rvmsounds.com/calculator/ e.g., 1 hour @ 256kbps = 112.5mb If you're using Apple Lossless, then the bitrate is going to be over 800kbps, so figure an hour would be close to 400mb (unless it's a more space-efficient algorithm I don't know about).
  16. No, Mike. My point was that this is probably the tip of the iceberg and we're sure to discover, in time, that Paterno was also a dictator and a mass murderer.
  17. They can put it next to the Lenin and Saddam statues.
  18. Le Petomane William H. Gass William S. Burroughs
  19. Is the bottom one named Audrey?
  20. Unfortunately, probably more than the Barry McGuire purses.
  21. I'm waiting for someone to die whom Valerie didn't know.
  22. I've always hated those harpsichord tracks on See You at the Fair. In general, I think harpsichord sounds awful on any music that postdates the advent of the piano. Landowska playing Bach is another matter.
  23. Elis Regina Elizabeth R R. Crumb
  24. Reynolds, are you familiar with any of Jane Ira Bloom's music when the rhythm section was Hersch, Dresser & Previte?
