  2. A Night At Birdland with Clifford Brown.................
  3. thanks for reminding me about that, don't remember seeing that link..............
  4. purchased "Olympia 20 Mars 1960" from CadenceBuilding, thought it was the complete session but it was pt. 1 only. Does anybody have pt. 2????? or pt.'s 1&2 on same cd. Am willing to purchase or trade.........
  5. I have just about all of cannonball's recordings and I don't hear trane in any of them, will have to revisit the cannonball section of my collection...........
  6. didn't say don't ask questions, said don't disrespect, don't belittle, don't demean...............
  7. "the issue is not drug addiction but its specific effect on Dexter" if he were not addicted to the drug, the drug would not have had the "specific effect" you're referring to on him. as i've said previously, you are the epitome of CONTRADICTION. the more you try to clean your shit up, the more contradictory it sounds. Can't keep my name out of your posts can you? I must have a "specific effect" on you. if you don't like his music, don't listen to it, don't buy it, that we all can understand. what is not understandable is your desire to disrespect a dead MASTER. I will never let your disrespect go unchallanged...........
  8. And one more you´re missing: "It´s you or no one" (SteepleChase LP 12": SCC 6022 ) or (SteepleChase CD: SCCD 36022) or (Video Arts Music CD: VACE-9006). yes, forgot about that one out, i own so many..................
  9. this is what i was trying to get across to allen...............
  10. right now listening to I'll Remember April from "Biting The Apple" on SteepleChase, very nice. check out these SteepleChase dates from 1964 when he was still in what i'll call his fertile period Cheesecake, King Neptune, Love For Sale, and I Want More, and Billie's Bounce...........
  11. "The Jumpin' Blues" was on Prestige. (I see Jim mentioned that) "Resurgence" was on Jazzland. my bad, and i have them right here in front of me, i stand corrected..........
  12. which ones don't you like...........
  13. there are no liner notes to the cd "Jumpin' Blues" does anyone have the LP? if so, are there any liner notes on the back............
  14. Jumpin' Blues is one of my favorites, pissed me off when i opened the booklet to find no liner notes, just a blank space............
  15. your spelling is correct. the slow tune i believe is Oh! Karen O. If someone held a gun to my head and said hurry up and pick one blue note, it would be difficult but it would be "Our Man In Paris". My favorite dex in a quintet setting would be "Generation" and the Herbie Hancock session "Takin' Off" both with Freddie Hubbard.....
  16. oh man where should i start, well, I own so many of dex's sessions, i group them by labels Blue Note: love "Our Man In Paris" "Getting Around" of course "Go" a session you don't hear a lot about "Landslide" "Dexter Calling" there some others "Clubhouse"(with Hub) "The Jumpin Blues" Prestige: "Tower Of Power" "More Power" "Generation"(with Freddie Hubbard) "The Resurgence Of Dexter Gordon" "At Montreux W/Jr. Mance" SteepleChase: "Cry Me A River" "Billie's Bounce" "King Neptune" "I Want More" and others "A Day In Copenhagen" on Polydor is really nice with Slide Hapmton playing and arranging
  17. I'm cool with that jim, i'm not the one who started mentioning mothers, and GO is one of my favorites. how's the band coming along..............
  18. I agree, especially after repeatedly trying to make sense to the nonsensical.......................
  19. as i said, i've made my points, time for me to rest my case, especially with your tendency to resort to the above frivolity and jokes on what to me is a very serious subject................
  20. that other guy looks like Johnny Griffin so the photo must have been taken at the "Live At Carnegie Hall" gig.......
  21. His fans and admirers like me, Wolf, Lion, and Schlitten far outnumber detractors such as yourself.......
  22. i see it as more of a discussion than an argument. no producer is going to keep recording an artist whose records are not selling no matter the quality, but since I have persuaded you to mention the word "Quality" in conjunction with the name DEXTER GORDON, I will rest my case................
  23. I would venture to say that those prestige dates sold pretty well, Schlitten produced several of them. and here you go again with your selective responses, what about Wolf/Lion and the Blue Notes..............
  24. overall I would agree but some of his comments READ like they're demeaning. I fully understand and respect the fact that we all have and are entitled to our opinions...................
  25. you read my comments with the same lack of objectivity you conducted the interview with.
