  1. My favorite KD sessions are Una Mas, Afro-Cuban, Trompeta Toccata and Osmosis because the obscure under recorded tenor Frank Haynes is on the set....................
  2. I thought Natural Essence(which I own) was Tyrone Washington's only session/release as a leader. I'm in Amoeba Records(the best indi record store in northern california)the other day and I see this sealed reissue LP Roots by Tyrone. At $8.99, why not give a try. Imo, the LP is barely ok(how can you screw up You Don't Know What Love Is) two, maybe three stars.......................
  3. Thanks for the response. Has anyone used the Teac GF-350? If so, were you satisfied with the results?
  4. Yes, It's an LP and the music is amazing. Thought provoking and exhilarating music to say the least. The shit that's not on CD. And I said to myself, "no more LP's", only cd's. Boy, is that changing..............
  5. Could we Please put the NEASE in Japo................

    LP to CD

If I try to do this with my computer, I know I'll get stuck at some point in the process. As far as CD Recorders are concerned, which is the BEST and LEAST expensive models along with compatible turntables. I would imagine that if your LP's are really scratchy with hiss and pops, you need to go through the puter..........
  7. Just aquired Paper Man, fantastic music..................
  8. I once knew a black chick who dated a chick that was black..............
  9. fasstrack, You asked a Black man to speak, a Brother spoke, resulting in silence since the 27th..............
  10. Claude, that was superb, thanks a lot.........................and that was in '62??????
  11. I think everyone knows mrjazzman is a black man and the music is my blood coming from my father(Elmon Wright) , grandfather(Lamar Wright Sr.), and uncle(Lamar Wright Jr.-check out their bios on AMG). Don't know if that qualifies me to speak. Someone asked a black man to speak so here goes. In the intro clip I saw two white men, one seemed very intelligent and sincere while the other came across as a pompous, silly(not funny) ass. Today 50 years later there are white people like Wilson and there are white people like Feather, there are black people like Wilson and there are black people like Feather, and chinease people and mexican people and on and on and on.............get my point? This is America.........
  12. As usual, I agree with you 100 per cent

  16. I would greatly appreciate any help in locating the following titles by Nathan Davis: "Jazz Concert In A Benedictine Monestary", "The 6th Sense In The 11th House" and "The Other Side Of Morning" . Gougers are asking too much on ebay....................

  21. You don't like Joshi's?...........why?
  22. Correct, Carl had an engagement in Washington, Eddie Marshall filled in for him(did a great job imo)on Saturday, he was back for the final set Sunday night. Along with Sonny Rollins, Roy Haynes and maybe a few others, Benny Golson is one of only a few MASTERS left. Great show from a guy who is 77 years old and who has been playing, arrangeing and composing for 50+ years................

    Benny Golson

Amazing...............A master composer, arranger, tenor saxophone player,(a triple threat like no other)a seminal figure in the hard bop movement(was with blakey in '58), and still writing(terminal 1), and playing at the age of 77,started a four night gig at one of the best jazz clubs in America, Joshi's World Class Jazz House & Japanease Restaurant in Oakland, CA with Mike LeDonne on piano, Carl Allen on drums, Buster Williams on bass and the LIVING LEGEND on tenor saxophone. and they're GIVING this shit away for $18.00(8pm show Thursday)..........life is beautiful............
  24. Hope this is the correct forum for this but, in your opinion which are the best mp3 sites for jazz.........
