  3. Well, "Memphis" was a top 10 hit here, but he was pretty much forgotten for years after that in the U.S.
  4. Thanks for the invite, but I doubt that I could get Joan to go to either the concert or the film. The food part - maybe.
  5. Have to say that I'm with Mrs. Jsngry on the Miles film and maybe the concert - I'm only somewhat familiar with the last piece. But I hope you enjoy.

  11. Hasn't been a week, but what the hey. "At the Crossroads" from Sir Douglas Quintet: Mendocino https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=594XG32OGvI "But you just cain't live in Texas/If you don't have a lotta soul" Some people think that New York City is a weird place. I've always thought that Texas was much stranger. No offense to any Texans in the audience.

  18. T-Bone Walker: The Natural Blues (Black & White/Capitol/Charly) Whenever I listen to T-Bone's 1940s/early 50's recordings, I'm always amazed at how perfectly and beautifully played they are - plus they're excellently recorded. Classic music.
  19. I hadn't listened to it for years, though I had very good memories of it. When I did last week, the memories were confirmed - especially side 1.
  20. Happy Birthday, to someone who's always out and about to hear and support the music!
  21. Albert Ayler Quartet: The Hilversum Session (Osmosis) It's almost eerie that Ayler and Don Cherry can make their instruments sound like one voice at times.
