  1. The Art Ensemble had (has?) "Odwalla" which is a cool theme.
  2. If you're into bootlegs, semi-bootlegs, or whatever you want to call them, the tracks are available here: https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Quartet-Giuffre-Complete-Recordings/dp/B000BYAD16
  3. I believe that several tracks with Jimmy Giuffre and Pee Wee Russell were included on The Complete Capitol and Atlantic Mosaic box.
  4. They could even use recordings by some of the older N.O. musicians and have music that was close to what Buddy Bolden's music might have sounded like. But Wynton? That's a disgrace.
  5. Maxwell Davis was a cornerstone of postwar L.A. r&b.
  6. If you're not being facetious, I assume he was referring to these guys:
  7. Martin Walker: The Resistance Man My wife and I are reading this for a book discussion at a local library next week. It's the first Bruno, Chief of Police novel that I've read, and I'm not at all impressed. A weak plot (which has little to do with the French resistance) , too many characters, and too much talk about food and wine. I'll pass on reading any other books in the Bruno series.
