$30 million (or more) for ten years for a guy who's driven in 100 runs once in seven years, and who struck out 169 times last year? That's a sucker's contract for the team that's paying it. The Yanks already have one guy who struck out 211 times last year (Stanton) and another who struck out 152 times (Judge). They don't need another one of those.

ESPN is evidently desperate to broadcast anything. ESPN 2 is airing the World Axe Throwing League and Dodgeball tonight.

I realize that it's all about money and sponsorship - The Cheez-it Bowl? - as is everything these days. I still find the entire bowl thing sad and more that that, disgusting.

I watched two bowl games tonight where a 7-5 team was playing a 6-6 team. Why not have a Toilet Bowl, where teams that have won only one or two games (or none) play each other? Bowl games used to mean something.

It makes no difference to me if Mariano is elected unanimously. He was the best of his time and over a lot of years - that's all that counts for me. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to see him pitch over those years.
