  1. I did say, "I know that this is only one side of the story - though it's an important one for me - and that many others here disagree." Obviously, you are one who does disagree and you've made that clear with your posts over time. I felt that AvantHard had a point that was worthwhile and hadn't been stated here. I just happened to agree with what AvantHard said. Seems like you took what I wrote personally. It wasn't intended that way.
  2. I'm with you. What you wrote doesn't get posted here often and I think you make an important point. All of the cheap box sets that have appeared in recent years are fine in some ways, but for me at this point in my life, the last thing I need is more "stuff" cluttering up my life. I'd rather have a few recordings that I love to listen to and that I can come to know well than boxes with many recordings that I don't care about much, will hardly ever (or never) listen to, and will just take up valuable space and time in my life. I know that this is only one side of the story - though it's an important one for me - and that many others here disagree. And by the way, welcome to the Organissimo Forums. I hope you'll continue to post.

  11. I believe that part of this was recorded at I concert I attended in 1966. I remember not enjoying the concert that much and not enjoying the record that much either.
  12. And that might be one I'd include in "songs I hate". Different Drums - Diffrent strokes.
  13. Two separate concerts actually. They were great - Jimmy Lyons, Eddie Gale, Alan Silva, and Andrew Cyrille with Cecil, and Don Ayler, Call Cobbs, Junie Booth, and Milford Graves with Albert Ayler. It would be great if that film footage would surafce.
  14. Steve McQueen King Tubby Isaac Hayes
  15. I was present at two concerts in Buffalo in early 1968 when Cecil Taylor's group and Albert Ayler's group were filmed. Unfortuntately, afik, the concerts have never seen the light of day since then.
  16. Happy Birthday, Joe! Hope you've got some good listening on tap today. Always interesting to read what you've got going.
  17. Joe Christmas Bobby Valentine Flora Purim
  18. Welcome back, Guy. I assume you were one vacation (along with the rest of the French population).
  19. On the air, she came across as someone with a good heart and as someone who truly cared about other musicians and who enjoyed their company.
  20. Bennie Green: The 45 Session (BN/Toshiba EMI)
  21. There are several songs that have been mentioned that I like a lot when they're performed by the right people.
  22. You can have it. Thanks. I'll gladly take it.
  23. Billie singing it sounds just fine to me.
