  1. Before all of this, I was going to say that later Nessa recordings used very good vinyl.
  2. It's a quintet session from 1962 with Evans, Zoot Sims, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, and Philly Joe Jones. It was first issued as a Japanese LP. It's been issued in the U.S. on CD as Loose Blues. Oh, that's a nice sleeve! I never saw that one before. Same artist who did 'Matador'. MG The actual cover is a somewhat lighter shade of green than the color in the image I posted.
  3. Sonny Rollins: The Bridge (RCA Japan)
  4. Bill Evans: Unknown Session (Riverside Japan)
  5. Grant Green: Solid (BN/King Japan)
  6. Colin Dexter: The Daughters of Cain
  7. Satchmo the Great (CBS Sony Japan)
  8. Michel Legrand Meets Miles Davis/Ben Webster/Hank Jones, etc., etc. (Philips Japan)
  9. I don't think that baseball would be foolish enough to try and ban someone who's never been previously suspended for life. There would no doubt be a court case and we all remember what happened with Bonds and Clemens. This would be a bigger mess. Then again, we're talking Bud Selig here ....
  10. John Coltrane: Coltrane's Sound (Atlantic Japan)
  11. Up for perusal.
  12. It's been a few years since I listened to that one. Have good memories of it, and it's time for another listen. Thanks for the reminder.
  13. It is, but it also gives you the ideal chance to go through your stuff and get rid of things you think you need and want but probably don't.
  14. Archie Shepp: Doodlin (Overseas Records Japan)
  15. It feels like fall today.
  16. Jay McShann: The Big Apple Bash (Atlantic)
  17. Dion The Dionne Quintuplets The Jive Five
  18. This is pretty disgusting. How about Selig suspending the Astros owner "in the best interests of baseball"?
  19. Steptoe and Son Fred Sanford LaWanda Page
  20. Charlie Haden: Silence (Soul Note) I've read at least a couple of put downs of Chet Baker's playing on this record but, to my ears at least, he sounds true to himself and the feeling is there. (And I'm not a Chet Baker fanatic.)
  21. Welcome to the O Forums, Chris.
  22. I'll pass - even if they pay me $3 a disc to take it.
  23. For me a lot depends on who's singing or playing the song.
  24. France Nuyen England Dan Holland Taylor
  25. Jimmy Raney & Doug Raney: Nardis (Steeplechase)
