I had no idea who she was from the name. You can't have family from Chicago and have not heard of the "McGuire Sisters"....actually, one on particular. I googled her, and I know her from some Classic films that I have seen and liked. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn being the main one I remember the most. R.I.P. Unless I missed some irony - very possible for me - the A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Dorothy McGuire is a different person from the singer who just passed.

Nice story. Tells us even more about the man.
