  1. Happy Birthday, Rod! Keep posting the interesting listening lists.
  2. Drew Brees Gale Storm Johnny and the Hurricanes
  3. Whatever season it happens, I know you'll be there rooting for them.
  4. Early Sunday morning, I woke up at 2 a.m. and was unable to get back to sleep. I was flicking around and came across an odd looking film on TCM. Turned out to be something called The Sid Saga, a self made documentary about a man named Sid Laverents who lived a varied life. Recommended to those who are looking for something interesting and off the beaten track.
  5. John Berger: Here Is Where We Meet Fascinating for the most part. Died toward the end for me.
  6. J.R. Monterose J.R. Richard J.R. Smith
  7. Have no Wynton. Have one Bradford - Trio Jeepy - because Milt Hinton plays bass on it.
  8. I'm a Yankee fan, but this year's Orioles might just be one of those teams of destiny. Much as I hate to say it, they're enjoyable to watch as they keep playing hard and keep on coming.
  9. Whichever one you pick, you win. And don't look back.
  10. Wow! Never heard of that one! This morning Earl Hines - Tour de force - Black Lion Dizzy Gillespie - Swing low sweet Cadillac - Impulse (MCA Germany) Big Jay McNeely - Deacon rides again - Imperial (Pathe Marconi France) now Joe Thomas & Bill Elliott - Speak your piece - Sue (What was left of the Rhoda Scott Trio after Rhoda left for Paris with Jiggs Chase on organ) MG Some hip wailing sax on that McNeely. edit: Plus a taste of Jesse Belvin and Mercy Dee Walton thrown in for good measure.
  11. Not saying that the two threads should be combined - they don't cover exactly the same ground - but people interested in this one might want to check out this one.
  12. Both. If you can't do that, flip a coin. (I like the Quebec/Hardee a lot.)
  13. Believe I voted for A Swingin' Affair, but could just have easily voted for Go!, Paris, or Calling. Dexter was on a roll.
  14. Obama The Dalai Lama Osama
  15. Archie Shepp: The Magic of Ju-Ju (Impulse stereo) - original issue
  16. Friar Tuck Sister Soeur The Blue Nun

  20. Good price. Thanks, Hans.
  21. That was my thought when I read the track listing and compared it to the first Dreams collection. I still may pick it up for the probable improved sound on the non-previous Yazoo tracks.
  22. If he's not in strong contention for the Cy Young, something's very wrong, especially considering the team he plays for.
  23. Carl Perkins Carl Perkins Pretty Perky Peggy King
  24. No. Thank you, Jeff. You've done the work and I've been able to enjoy it.
  25. I don't know how many here have ever looked at Jeff Crompton's blog, Hello There, Universe. There's always something interesting there, and a part of it is Jeff's Daily Picture. Wonderful and interesting photographs there which deserve eyes looking at them. Check them out. I'll bet you'll find things of interest to you.
