  1. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Diane_McBain Wow, it's entirely possible that this is the first time I've ever seen her. So many faces, so little time. Well, it seems as if she's hung around - so many have - but her time was the 60's. No reason you should have seen her, unless you're into bad/mediocre 60's movies.

  3. no, you can still have fun 'cause i recognized her without the nametag! Sorry. I couldn't read the name tag and figured others couldn't. Some people's eyes are better than others.
  4. I cheated. Here she is in 2005.

  6. I remember watching Julius Erving and the Nets back in the day - Larry Kenon ("Dr. K"), John Williamson ("Super John"), Billy Paultz ("The Whopper"). They were a good and very entertaining team.

  14. That was my first reaction too. BTW, someone should tell her she's got lipstick on her teeth.
  15. I too agree with you Peter, Zoot's sound gained complexity with time. And the Pablos are my favorite. Zoot was an amazing player, no one had his sense of rhythm. The recording Basie & Zoot is one of my favorites from that period. I also wish the Gershwin CD was in better sound... I wish the Gershwin had a different rhythm section.
  16. Interesting. I think that if I were a Cubs fan I'd be happy. I don't know. He did sign Lackey & Crawford didn't he? And from the looks of things the stats approach failed to account for character defects like too much beer, fried chicken & vidya gaming. I don't know either, but the Red Sox did win two World Series with Epstein making the decisions. How long since the Cubs got a ring?

  18. To be fair, Bob Thiele did a helluva lot more for the music than marrying singers and recording them. Did anyone else produce records by Archie Shepp and Buddy Holly?

  20. I held on to my copy of Joel Forrester and the Illustrous Others, mainly because Denis Charles plays on it. Played it recently and it's enjoyable on a light hearted level - that's not meant as a criticism, just a description of how it sounds to me. I'll play it again when I'm in the mood for something like that.
  21. George "Mojo" Buford, probably best known for playing harp in the Muddy Waters band, has passed. Obit here.
