  9. Dying or listening to some of those might be a tough choice.
  10. I believe that the OJC LPs up to #250 or so are analog. After that there is a notation on the back cover saying something like - remastered by whomever - don't have any of those LPS anymore, so I'm not sure of the exact wording. I assume that those later LPs used the same digital mastering as the CDs.

  15. Thanks. I've been wondering where to try and get a replacement stylus for my Shure. Do you know if this outfit is reliable?

  17. This was not a great concert, but it was an interesting one. Cecil is often portrayed as the "bad guy" of this event, but I hear more communication from his direction than from Mary Lou. I remember reading somewhere that Cecil claimed that Mary Lou changed things up at the last minute by bringing in Mickey Roker. Cecil felt that if she felt a drummer was necessary, she could have asked Andrew Cyrille, who had played with both of them. But I'm sure that Mary Lou had her side of things. Hadn't listened to this in a long time. It has it's moments and sure is "interesting", as you say. And I agree that there is generally more attempt at communication from Cecil's side. Perhaps Mary Lou felt overwhelmed. If so - understandable.

  21. Still have the fever after all these years. I do find that as I've gotten older that I believe that I'm listening with more attention than I did when I was younger, & I find that I'm collecting less for the sake of collecting and collecting more for the sake of listening, if that makes sense. I'm amazed that there's always music out there that I haven't heard before and that excites my spirit. There are times when I've thought about cutting down my collection as I get older to maybe 500-1000 "essential" recordings, but I've decided that wouldn't be as much fun.

  25. Sorry, I thought I was replying to the original comment. That wasn't what I meant, either.
