  8. I hear what you're saying, Jim. It's just that for me, her voice is an entity unto itself & not a means of communication - if that makes sense. That's always been a problem for me when I listen to her. I'm glad that you and others can hear her differently than I do. It would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything.

  11. I've always felt that Sarah Vaughan was in love with the sound of her voice, & that created a problem for me feeling/appreciating her music. I realize that's a distinct minority view, but it's how I hear her.

  20. Thanks for posting the link. Combined with the snips of music, the review gave a good overview of Von Freeman & his music - at least as goodan overview as could be done in four minutes. Hope it served to bring more attention to Mr. Freeman and Vonski Speaks.

  22. Thanks for doing this, Chuck. I have the LP, but would have bought a CD without any extra material. With the extra track this is a must.
  23. Yeah. Even if it wasn't "the end" or "the last", it's up there with the best.
  24. Me too! Does this mean I'm starting to think like Allen?
  25. Doesn't Atlantic (or whatever conglomerate that now owns Atlantic) own the London/Paris material? Or at least the two LPs worth of material that was originally issued? I believe that Concord would only have the rights to any material that wasn't issued when Atlantic had a distribution deal with Stax. The Otis/Whiskey material would fall into that category.
