This was not a great concert, but it was an interesting one. Cecil is often portrayed as the "bad guy" of this event, but I hear more communication from his direction than from Mary Lou.
I remember reading somewhere that Cecil claimed that Mary Lou changed things up at the last minute by bringing in Mickey Roker. Cecil felt that if she felt a drummer was necessary, she could have asked Andrew Cyrille, who had played with both of them. But I'm sure that Mary Lou had her side of things. Hadn't listened to this in a long time. It has it's moments and sure is "interesting", as you say. And I agree that there is generally more attempt at communication from Cecil's side. Perhaps Mary Lou felt overwhelmed. If so - understandable.
