  5. If by "pressings" you mean technically, I won't dispute that (although I never had a problem). But if you're referring to the quality of the music, I would disagree. There were a lot of really fine performances either made available through licensing or original pressings. Some really nice albums by the likes of Nat Adderley, Dexter, Great Jazz Trio and many others. I was referring to pressings, not music. Tho, in some cases, the pressings interfered with my enjoyment of the music.
  6. Just want to add another for Another Workout. I find myself enjoying the relaxed feeling of the date, untypical of many BN hard bop records of the time.

  16. Pleasant - low 70's, off & on rain. I'm getting a bit tired of rain everyday, but that's sure better than oppressive heat, which I'm sure will be coming sometime or other.

  22. The Modern Red Norvo Ran into Ed Diehl at a local bookstore a few weeks ago and got to talking about Tal Farlow. I mentioned that I've had a tough time getting into Tal Farlow's playing. Tal Farlow is one of Ed's biggest influences, and he suggested Farlow's early recordings with Red Norvo and Mingus as some of Farlow's most relaxed playing on record. So I'm looking forward to hearing this.
