  10. Everyone should read this and think about how close the board came to being closed down. All of us should think about whether our egos and personalities are more important than the existence of the board. Jim makes part of his living by playing music. It's a terrible thing that stuff posted on this board has hurt his career. Shouldn't be.
  11. When I read Jim's comments, I could feel the pain and discomfort he was feeling. I do feel that people should think about what they're doing before they post. Not excepting myself from this - I'm sure that all of us have overstepped the bounds of common courtesy, etc. at various times. I think that all of us should remember that we are guests here and should try to act accordingly. Maybe this makes me sound like a stuffed shirt, but it's what I feel is right.

  15. A bunch of classical composers, musicians, and conductors - thanks to a friend.
  16. Thought about this before but never posted it: Henry Threadgill's compositions have some wonderful titles. He obviously loves words and uses them in very creative ways.
  17. No arguments. All of these people have served the music well, and deserve the recognition and $. It would be nice if the awards were televised on PBS.

  23. A friend of mine who lives in Boston told me that Chuck Person used to make shots while sitting on the bench during pregame warmups. He and Larry Bird used to try and play head games with each other.
