  1. Jr. Walker and the All Stars: Home Cookin'
  2. Ornette: To Whom Who Keeps a Record
  3. Frank Foster and Frank Wess
  4. One of them puts out better records - IMO.
  5. From the Music of Harry Partch - Castor & Pollux and The Letter Rechanneled Stereo, unfortunately - I'll have to check if this has been reissued on CD in its original mono state.
  6. Shows how much I know. All these years I thought they took "When a Man Loves a Woman", turned it around and ran with it.
  7. Frank Strozier: Long Night Jaki Byard: Solo/Strings
  8. Believe that today's the 13th - I'm finding it difficult to keep track of days since I retired - so Happy Birthday!
  9. Sleepy John Estes: Brownsville Blues
  10. For myself - and I realize that Miles (at least during that period) played for himself and not for me or anyone else - I wish Miles had kept Sam Rivers and had forgotten about Wayne Shorter. But, hey, that's just me. So - another for Miles in Tokyo and Sam Rivers.
  11. Ornette: Sound Grammar Monk Alone Blakey: Drums Around the Corner
  12. I'm not a fan of broadcast news - that's putting it mildly - but Ed Bradley always struck me as someone who was honest and had integrity. I also felt that he had an empathy with people he interviewed when it was appropriate. I'll miss him.
  13. One of my favorites, brownie. I hope that BN will get around to putting it on CD so that's available for all.
  14. Paul Gonsalves: Gettin' Together
  15. That last recording session, For the Last Time, is another very fine one. I've had it since it came out in the mid-seventies, and still enjoy it whenever I play it.
  16. Just dropped off by UPS: Cecil Taylor: The Tree of Life Bill Heid: Da Girl
  17. A second on the Tiffany Transcriptions - essential recordings for a Bob Wills collection.
  18. I don't know, MG. I think I'd rather listen to Screaming Jay during the daylight hours. The combination of Screaming Jay and darkness might be too much for me.
  19. Last night: Lester Young & Charlie Christian: 1939-1940 - 10/28/40 session - Charlie Christian, Benny Goodman, Buck Clayton, Lester Young, Count Basie, Freddie Green, Walter Page, & Jo Jones.
  20. Mississippi John Hurt: Today
  21. Happy birthday to one Paul from another.
  22. Thanks for all of the good wishes. You guys are the best. As brownie predicted, I did listen to some great music today - some old favorites - Cecil, Bird, John Hurt. Also voted today, & I hope that I'll see some changes in our government coming from the voting today. That would be a great birthday present. Thanks again.
