  1. Any issues with QT? I'll drive by 20 Circle Ks to hit a QT.
  2. Yep. I sometimes avoid specific locations of chains that I otherwise have no problem with. There is a Flying J in New Mexico that seems to attract the worst local element, so....
  3. This happened in McCamey Texas, that crew has moved on to Uvalde now. Not sure of the store but we see credit card purchases at Allsup's so likely one of them. Can't avoid the timing and need for them to be where they are. These crews are working through a shit load solar farm acres applying herbicides. There is very little tolerance for unwanted brush and weed growth at these places. Shit fucks up cable trays, drive lines, shades panels, creates fires and overall safety risk to electrical techs, etc.. Wish I didn't have to have them there but... In a couple of weeks I have to send the second wave that consists of mowers. By then, this current Texas group will have made it to California to join their comrades and finish up the remaining lot out west.
  4. What is interesting to me, is that some of the N95 masks being recommended have traditionally been used for dust particles only, such as the 3M 8210. We've always bought a shit load of these over the years for use when mixing dry pesticides (strictly voluntary and not always required). So, in theory, a common nuisance dust musk, likely does offer some protection and is better than nothing. What medical (and affiliated first responder) professionals need is totally different in protection levels versus the common dude walking down the street. On a side note, I have crews working in west Texas. One of my drivers had a face mask hanging from the rear view mirror of his truck while parked at a convenience store and some knucklehead tried to grab it. Yeah, this is probably not the time to leave a mask hanging on the mirror but what about the idiot walking by and thinking that mask was worth taking? I mean, 1. gross and 2., you dumb motherfucker, what if the user of the mask is sick.?!
  5. This is pretty consistent everywhere people have the ability to do so. I think the story might underplay a little how many first time gun owners are actually causing the spike. I believe it to be the majority at the moment.
  6. I've always been a fan and agree, it was excellent. If they keep tour dates and I can get the timing right, I'm planning to catch one of the summer shows scheduled in Texas.
  7. Agree. I'm almost certain he continued to shake hands and hug.
  8. That map is interesting. I can't say I've ever ordered just french fries for delivery. Utah is cinnamon sticks, what the hell? I've never done Sushi by delivery and never will.
  9. I'm still getting my morning espresso from a small coffee shop down the street, their business is off but chances are they will survive. From what I've seen Starbucks is drive thru only now and those locations seem to be doing just fine. During normal times I do lunch out almost everyday lot and my wife and I go out to dinner at least once a week. Now, we still do take-out from places we've always supported that are still open but also go home for lunch on some days.
  10. Hearing that too. I bought kale chips once.
  11. Last week I had my office prepare file folder envelopes for traveling crews that contains letters/bulletins from various organizations/agencies raging from national trade associations, power generation/distribution clients and Feds citing the essential and critical need of services we provide. Crazy times, no doubt. We are about to start work for the MTA/LIRR which means I have to send some people from a relatively safe area out west, across the country (driving) and into New York. I'm really struggling with this.
  12. I hear you. My lady is making me a believer though. She does this fantastic kale apple salad in which she julienne cuts lacinato kale, adds sliced honeycrisp apples, toasted almonds, dates or dried cranberries, tosses with Pecorino Romano (Grana or Parmigiano works too) and a lemon with a touch of honey vinaigrette. Pretty tasty. I also got turned on to Chris Cosentino's lemon kale pesto.
  13. I do 90% of the cooking at home and therefore 90% of the grocery shopping. That was a deal made years ago to let me of the hook for other chores. My wife makes fantastic and very creative salads, so I leave that to her as well as any dessert type baking. If there is a positive in any of this crap, it's the allowance she is making for more pasta. Saturday night we had bolognese (home made) with orecchiette and a chicken soup with tortellini last night. Tonight though, looks like a kale salad with grilled chicken.
  14. Yep, but a lot didn't and won't listen and we are all paying the price. 'The only corona here is the one I'm drinking' Fucking dopes.
  15. Interesting, I didn't know that about taste and smell. Were the peanuts unsalted? I too came down with something back in late January. Viscous cough, no fever and cough aside it never ever seemed to turn into a full blown anything. I still experience a dry cough from time to time but I assume it is all allergy related since this is the time of year for that.
  16. That PA list has been totally changed up now and a lot more businesses are able to continue operations. I think we are all hoping it blows over, but yeah, if you can, stay away from the office. I'm actually hiring people. Labor has been way tight prior to all this and we are in what is considered to be "essential or critical infrastructure maintenance" , public safety, fire risk reduction, etc.etc., so I can likely offer work and good pay for some. We are still in the office everyday and my people still out doing what they do. It sucks, but....
  17. I do remember her. So sad to hear of her passing. R.I.P
  18. According to a similar story in the LA Times, a lot of people buying guns and ammo are buying for the first time. The "those people" you are referring to are not likely the ones in a mad rush to stock up because most have always been stocked up. And those people buying ammo so they can't hunt for food are doing all others a solid.
  19. Yep. I love how professional sports leagues are always looking for ways to speedup the games while simultaneously looking for ways to stretch the seasons.
  20. Plenty of controversy surrounded the KB Go Fund Me and still does. Either Jazz Foundation is bullshit or it isn't. That's a call people have to make. Same with this GFM, and I for one still feel it is odd. As an example, when I try to look at Mr. Cobb's website I get a warning that it has been compromised. Coincidence?
  21. Getting hit by a car is a fucked up way to go out, especially at 91. RIP
