  1. Fuck me, what sad news this is. This guy was an absolute monster drummer and a great lyricist. He was a different type of dude, a somewhat shy, quiet, keep to yourself type. The fact the fans had no idea goes to show you just that. I suppose the retirement all makes sense now. I don't believe in destiny Or the guiding hand of fate I don't believe in forever Or love as a mystical state I don't believe in the stars or the planets Or angels watching from above But I believe there's a ghost of a chance We can find someone to love And make it last.... I consider myself lucky have seen the band live twice in their prime and regret not going to see them on the final tour, especially now. RIP Neil, thanks for doing it. Cue the music.... Living on a lighted stage Approaches the unreal For those who think and feel In touch with some reality Beyond the gilded cage Cast in this unlikely role Well equipped to act With insufficient tact One must put up barriers To keep oneself intact Living in the limelight The universal dream For those who wish to seem Those who wish to be Must put aside the alienation Get on with the fascination The real relation The underlying theme Living in a fisheye lens Caught in the camera eye I have no heart to lie I can't pretend a stranger Is a long awaited friend All the world's indeed a stage And we are merely players Performers and portrayers Each another's audience Outside the gilded cage Living in the limelight The universal dream For those who wish to seem Those who…
  2. I like OP just fine, sideman, trio or whatever. Like with many, there is some bad, not so good, good and great. For me, what I hear, is more good to great than not.
  3. Haha... A quote in an article I read when the author was asked if he was going to be attending a Springsteen concert. "No. I’m not. I’d rather watch the entire first season of Cupcake Wars while being trapped on an elevator with a diarrhetic mule. (No offense to diarrhetic mules.)"
  4. I have never been able to understand the appeal and popularity of Springsteen. What am I missing?
  5. I haven't had a land line for years and like you I'm about to dump cable. We are paying in excess of $220 for cable and internet. I'm looking for the right combination and hope to drop the cable at start of new year. We will continue to pay for the higher speed internet and do everything else through Roku or similar.
  6. I did but that was from an interview I saw years ago. I don't think that many people knew until he did the recording with Adam Levine.
  7. Revisiting early "Sunny" episodes. One of the greatest shows of all time and still going. "The Gang Hits the Road".
  8. It took me a while to get past the reverse aging technology or whatever they call it, a little freaky, but overall a good movie. Agree 100% with you on Pesci.
  9. I totally understand, especially since I put up a couple of very heavy examples. I have a diverse interest/appreciation for music but certainly not all of it. Free jazz is lost on me as is the house/edm stuff and all modern day pop. It is an evolution for me though, coming up with Black Sabbath on to Iron Maiden on to Slayer on to All that Remains, etc. The shit resonates with me and keeps me balanced. Plus, it's not exactly mainstream stuff getting big $$ and I like to support small business.
  10. It's just a style, some do both clean and guttural, while some, just one or the other. I didn't care for it at first but the riffs could not be denied and it grew on me. That said, there is still come forms of metal not for me, but I continue to explore.
  11. Onward? Nah, not with this stuff. And this isn't a case of a 50 something guy not wanting to give it a chance and just listening to the same old shit. There are bands out there writing, playing and recording new music and then grinding it out (mainly in smaller venues) to live audiences. Onward indeed, but I'll choose this over that, all day and all night.
  12. Yikes. I agree, no songs is definitely the problem.
  13. Interesting. For me, it is Classic Rewind, Classic Vinyl, 60s, 70s, 80s, The Bridge, Hair Nation, Ozzy's Boneyard, Liquid Metal and until recently Howard 100 and 101, but I've taken 100 off and replaced with Octane. When I eliminate 101 it will be replaced with First Wave.
  14. I'm about the same, although in more recent years I think Sirius/XM has a repetitive programming problem. It's very noticeable on multi-day drives which I do quite a bit of. My current vehicle lacks a CD player (will never do that again) so, I finally gave into the playlist thing using my phone as storage. I go back and forth between it and Sirius.
  15. A local bagel shop in Brooklyn I go to frequently mixes cream cheese with all kinds of shit, from oreo cookies (not for me) to cheddar and bacon (tasty), so I can see how the peanut butter works for you.
