  1. Orrin Evans “Liberation Blues” Smoke Sessions cd This is my first Orrin Evans cd. Won’t be my last.
  2. Not how I feel about it. Very little dross if at all.
  3. I think it would be better to spend 100 dollars getting the Charles Mingus Complete Debut Recordings box that has this material and so much more interesting music.
  4. I have the Debut box double versions as well as an SACD. I'm good too. Trying not to be cranky, that's not a plus.
  5. These seem geared to new jazz explorers who have experienced growing interest in jazz through audiophile VINYL releases. There seemed to be more than enough of them for these releases to be thought up and brought out. And for those newly exploring jazz these are beneficial. For cranky old jazzers squeezing dimes together for obscure titles, not so much.
  6. Ron Carter “Foursight: The Complete Stockholm Tapes” disc 2 Renee Rosnes shines here.
  7. Jure Pukl “Broken Circles” Whirlwind cd I bought this originally because Joel Ross is on board. Glad I did.
  8. That said I do want to note my experience that improving my system does improve the playback of early cds.
  9. Yes, I'd welcome another. Though she's very close to my age and I understand not working an ass off at this point of life. Just want to suggest the Winter & Winter version of this album as it has always sounded good, it's better than the earlier release.
  10. Duke Ellington “The Great Paris Concert” Atlantic 2 cd set A great Ellington concert . . . sound is very good. If I had a time machine this would be a good destination for an evening out.
  11. Cassandra Wilson “Live” Winter & Winter cd Long time no play–system has improved since then. A great listen.
  12. About 10 days I'd say. For some items they have an American warehouse.
  13. Cheaper to order from the label.
  14. Can't drink what isn't there to purchase.
  15. Both are great concerts. I think the sound is a little better here, though I haven't made a direct comparison this week. There are only a week apart between them. . . very similar performances but as you know there are significant differences between Miles concerts in any year.
  16. This is a great release. Sound almost as good as the Dragon/Bootleg series releases of 1960 tour material. Great performances.
  17. Betty Carter “It’s not About the Melody” Verve cd 630×640 28.1 KB Bass – Ariel J. Roland, Christian McBride, Walter Booker Drums – Clarence Penn, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Lewis Nash Piano – Cyrus Chestnut, John Hicks, Mulgrew Miller Tenor Saxophone – Craig Handy Vocals – Betty Carter I needed to hear some Betty.
  18. I like the strawberry but in the evenings it upsets my stomach a bit . . . I like grape later in the day.
  19. Bill Evans "Live at Keystone Korner 1980 Vol. 5" Solid Records Japan cd
  20. Tutty Moreno featuring Joyce "Magica" Husband and wife in a jazzy session.

  22. Lost our internet from 5:00 p.m. or so til 2:00 a.m. Back now and catching up. Now playing Steve Lehman Octet “Travel, Transformation and Flow” More than a bit outside but resembling my brain this morning that is only linear when my dog is barking looking for more food.
