  1. That Blakey set was my first one as well. I was 36 or 37.
  2. They have never done this and have vowed to never do it. The owners of the material have used the Mosaic transfers after the leases have ended as downloads in some cases.
  3. Duke Ellington “Volume 10: 1947-1951” Neatwork cd I’m glad I picked up this one–it has a few alternates and a number of unissued Columbia sides I have never heard before.
  4. Disc 2. This is a very nice set.
  5. I took it to mean they sold 2500 copies before the licensing time limit expired and they have been given permission to press 1000 more even though the lease time limit has expired.
  6. Vienna Art Orchestra “Duke Ellington & Charles Mingus” Verve cd
  7. My youngest brother has had three infections in the same time period, his wife and daughters twice. . .they're fully vaccinated and he and his wife boosted so they have not been really bad versions of the illness. My other brother and his wife have had COVID once, early in the pandemic. My wife and I luckily have not had COVID.
  8. I agree. It's my opinion many of Miles' "disses" of music and musician were extra-musically motivated. Jealousy of former sidemen making a big splash and some money perhaps.
  9. In the past they have stated they have been unable to achieve download licensing from those they lease from. I don't think they can financially handle the risks of releasing LPs in this day and age.
  10. I wonder how many cds of that Scott sold--I have one. Personally I want Mosaic to continue, and I have bought every set of theirs this century, and own most of the sets before that. I have learned so much from these sets, and enjoy the music. My tastes are broad, but fall in line with Mosaic's. What Mosaic may choose to not release that I have interest in I have been able to easily find in other versions, and many proposed sets in this thread I have little interest in. I'm lucky that I don't buy Scotch, wine, etc. and buying discs is my one big vice and I can afford many. I definitely understand the "old white guy" stance bemoaned here, and feel that Mosaic understands their place as well in the market. I feel that Mosaic is as happy about some of the "help" here as I have been about help I have received that I didn't ask for in my life. I wish them the best and that to their own selves be true. And that those that want other types of sets can find the material out there and can get new reissues they would like.
