  4. They just did the Black & White--which was hard to obtain material, and the Tristano and Brubeck had unreleased material. Keep the faith.
  5. There are two jazz threads on the Hoffman forum, one that is most active that I started years ago, and an older one that has been withering over the last few years. Some of the members here are posters there, and many others. There is a wide variety of tastes represented. So far there is little discussion of this upcoming set, either favorably or non-favorably.

  14. I'd sell my collection. . . .
  15. "Bill Evans Trio at Shelly's Manne-hole, Hollywood, California" Riverside OJC K2 cd
  16. I agree about the mastering, more than a 'subtle upgrade' to my ears on my system.
  17. Chet Baker "Baby Breeze" Limelight/Verve cd Expanded reissue of a quite nice Baker session with some stellar sidemen. Alto Saxophone, Flute – Frank Strozier Bass – Michael Fleming Drums – Charlie Rice Flugelhorn, vocals – Chet Baker Guitar – Kenny Burrell Piano – Bob James, Hal Galper Tenor Saxophone – Phil Urso Piano, Arranged By, Producer – Bobby Scott
  18. Stan Getz "The Clef & Norgran Studio Albums" disc 3 Swing so hard at times it hurts.
  19. Bob Dylan "More Blood, More Tracks" disc Five I've been meaning to get back to this set, and my system sounds so good now that it sounds even better than it did before, even though I thought it sounded outstanding last time. Great music and music-making. And the right speed!
  20. Teddy Wilson "1935-1936" Chronogical (sic) Classics cd Teddy Wilson's 'thirties recordings are among my favorites of the decade, with great singers and instrumentalists and with his amazing elegant and swinging piano. The solo piano sides are excellent as well. I have this material in several ways, but the Classics series presents them in really good sound and completely in chronological order--a great way to hear them.
  21. It's there probably for everyone.
  22. I was hesitant about sound quality but went for the Mobley and it had the best sounding cd versions of the sessions I had heard and I had updated these several times, and even sold the Japanese versions I had favored and kept before. And then bought the Henderson set and discovered the same sonic upgrade. I'm going for the Hubbard for the same reason.
