  7. I am sure it does. I have only been able to compare one of the new Japanese cd reissues to a US Candid LP and that was mono and stereo in the mix as well but the new ones sound far more like the LPs to me than the cd versions I've had before.
  8. Cal Massey "Blues to Coltrane" Candid/Solid Records Japan mono cd. Sounds so good compared to my earlier version. There should have been more Massey led sessions in the past. He was an interesting writer.
  9. Kenny Barron "Sambao" Gitanes Jazz cd Kenny Barron – piano Toninho Horta – guitar Nico Assumpção – bass Mino Cinelu – percussion Victor Lewis – drums Original compositions of Barron's that show his strong musical identity and evoke Brasil. I love this one.
  10. Omar Sosa & NDR Big Band, Arrangements by Jacques Morelenbaum I had to listen to this one again today. Morelenbaum arranging this band and Sosa's playing and compositions. . . in spectacular sound. To hear this presented this way is one reason I'm an audiophile as well as a music-lover.
  11. Zoot Sims, "Zoot Suite" High Note cd. A live recording with a great group. . . Zoot with Jimmy Rowles, George Mraz and Mousey Alexander. These guys are musical friends and it shows. Sound is just this side of "okay," but once the groove sets in I don't care.
  12. Back to basics. Count Basie Vol. 4 1937. Masters of Jazz
  13. "The Straight Horn of Steve Lacy" Candid/Solid Records Japan mono cd. The very first Candid Records release, in '61. Steve Lacy - soprano saxophone Charles Davis - baritone saxophone John Ore - bass Roy Haynes - drums
  14. Got busy with "Honey do" tasks. Now this one again recause I dug it so much the previous spin. George Russell "So What" Blue Note cd
  15. I am not a fan, My closest neighbor is 92 and blasts them occasionally. He doesn't hear very well and when he plays I wish I too didn't.
  16. "Zoot Sims and the Gershwin Brothers" Pablo K2 lp facsimile cd from Japan. Joe Pass and Zoot make a great front line.
  17. George Russell "So What" Blue Note cd Seems to me George and Miles were listening to each other closely at this time if not for years beforehand.
  18. Bob Dylan "1970" Sony Blu-Spec CD2 disc 2.
  19. Nice listening to the parents of Monday Michiru. "Toshiko Mariano Quartet" Candid/Solid Records Japan, mono cd Alto Saxophone, flute – Charlie Mariano Bass – Gene Cherico Drums – Eddie Marshall Piano – Toshiko Akiyoshi Mariano
  20. I don't know anything about that, but if it was one cut on MPS I wouldn't expect it to be on a Columbia disc. I've chased this catalog since the 'seventies and have most of the LPs still. . .on cd I had some that sounded good, some that didn't, so with this complete set they all share the same mastering "style" and they all sound good.
  21. I bought this one when it came out late '17. It's a very good set, complete and sonically very nice.
  22. William Parker ‎"The Music Of William Parker: Migration Of Silence Into And Out Of The Tone World" disc 5, "Harlem Speaks"
  23. Curtis Mayfield "Roots" cd, from the "Keep on Keepin' On" box set. They did a good job with the mastering of these first four LPs from Curtis.
  24. Thanks for the headsup!
  25. Pat Metheny "Song X" Remastered edition.
