  1. It was mentioned in the liner notes to some Bird release (I can't locate it now) that Bird had some superstitious reason why he didn't want his solos to go on too long - 3 choruses were tops.
  2. Overdubbing in 1959? Impressive. Thanks, guys.
  3. Thanks; the discos list Diaz as playing bongos.
  4. In the album "Mucho, Mucho," vibes are clearly heard. Yet the discographies in Wikipedia and disco.org do not list a vibes player. Anyone know who it might be? Similarly, in the album "Scottie Plays The Duke," a piano is clearly heard in addition to the organ. Yet no mention of who the pianist is. Anyone know?
  5. Are you aware of the sequel? Released in Japan 2013:
  6. No; I'm happy with one.
  7. I've found an amazing bargain: GGMM E3. Great price ($90 or so), with built-in AirPlay support. Got one today in blue, and it sounds really good for a small, standalone speaker. Documentation says if you get two, it will play stereo.
  8. You're right! I found a page there that was full of interesting suggestions. I especially liked the rack made out of Lego's! https://support.hifiberry.com/hc/en-us/articles/205699981?mobile_site=true
  9. I see they're listing the Bobby Hackett, which is OOP. Someone should grab that.
  10. All the best, Larry!
  11. Earl Hines and Chick'n'Ella arrived today; Lester will probably come next week.
  12. Is it possible to use a Raspberry Pi with a HiFiBerry DAC+ and have it receive an Apple AirPlay signal?
  13. The site I was looking for is picosong.com.
  14. Here is the last 20 minutes of an interview with George Duvivier that was broadcast on WBGO (NY - NJ area) 10/28/84. The backstory is: I was driving home after an evening in Manhattan, and started listening to this great interview on my car radio. When I got home, I managed to record the end of it. Wish/hope the entire interview exists in the WBGO archives. Enjoy. http://picosong.com/MjBX
  15. This was a broadcast, but it's an audio file I have in my collection. There are audio upload sites, similar to Photobucket for photos.
  16. Which sites allow you to upload audio and post a link here, so we can listen to it? I know I did it once, and it wasn't SoundCloud, but don't remember the site now.
  17. Best I can tell, there isn't yet a thread here devoted to the great bassist, George Duvivier. I want to start with an interesting bit of trivia I learned from The Youngbloods compilation on BGO: On Jesse Colin Young's second album, Young Blood (Mercury, 1965), he's backed by George Duvivier and Osie Johnson!
  18. No downloads??? (Sorry, I couldn't resist! Not directed at you, J.A.W.)
  19. I'd be curious to read the forum. Can you post the URL?
  20. There are signs of life at eMusic. They've revamped their website, and simplified their pricing plans.
  21. I think they're struggling, probably because of too few employees. I used to get shipping notices with tracking information (I always choose UPS), but my last few orders didn't have that. The orders did arrive, though.
  22. It basically lists the newest links on the Mosaic homepage - usually performance videos and articles by people like Mike Myers. I look forward to getting them.
