And Sony could put out an "Original Album Classics" package of Bud. It would contain the two RCA discs, A Portrait of Thelonious, A Tribute to Cannonball, and One Night at Birdland.

I was thinking that Warner can now put together an "Original Album Series" package of Bud Powell. It would have the disc of Roost and Vogue masters, Bud Plays Bird, Bud Powell in Paris, The Return of Bud Powell, and Inner Fires.

I got the package today, in good condition. It was interesting: the invoice inside the box was in Italian from amazon.it, but the box was shipped by Amazon U.K. Probably saves them on shipping, but I wonder whether that was part of the delay. Anyway, I'm happy; there's some great music here, and a lot that I'm looking forward to hearing for the first time.

I remember owning the Japanese King vinyl of "Cool Struttin' Volume 2" where the liner notes writer (some Japanese guy) made the claim that Alfred Lion had nothing to do with the success of Blue Note, that it was all due to the musicians. Whatever.
