  1. Put away the puffy shirt...Loaf...
  2. Blue Moods Thanks Paul.
  3. I believe the fixes are more of a buffer type correction.
  4. That's right MG. Print heads gotta be clean. And it it hasn't been used in a while, they could be dried up... Sometimes though, these conditions can provide unique, one-time only prints. I once had a picture come out with the COOLEST shade of blue.
  5. Whoa... Come to Butthead...
  6. Kenny Burrell - Don't Cry Baby Pts 1 & 2 - Prestige 45rpm single. What album is this from?
  7. And it really was from vinyl...really CLEAN vinyl...
  8. I listened to this one yesterday whilst at work, working... It was great! I really dug that first track.
  9. Hey, I'm doing it! Thanks guys!
  10. Just finished: Grant Green - Goin' West - Dark blue label - sounds fantastic. Now up: Billie Holiday - Songs For Distingue Lovers - Verve - Classic Records 180 gm I can't believe I'm actually starting to like jazz vocals...
  11. Dwight Yoakam - Hillbilly Deluxe - Reprise Went and saw him last night in downtown Denver at the Paramount Theater. Great show. That guy sure has a great voice and can play that acoustic guitar just super fine. He's got a pretty hot-shot band these days too.
  12. McCoy Tyner - Sahara - Milestone/OJC
  13. John Coltrane - The Stardust Session - Side 4
  14. ABBA - Greatest Hits Vol. 2 - Dj copy Shelley made me put it on...and I haven't been enjoying it one bit.
  15. Benny Golson - Groovin' With Golson - New Jazz/OJC
  16. Kenny Burrell - Ellington is Forever Vol. 1 - Fantasy brown label
  17. Ah, crap...now I'll have to hear it. Does anyone know if this is the only version with the corrected out theme? I relistened to the JRVG last nite, and the ping on that last hard note is actually quite minimized. But on the TOCJ, it sounds bad. Who's gonna step up and do all the comparisons? :
  18. I'd be interested in how "The Cooker" sounds in this new mastering. The JRVG says it's stereo, but it's been narrowed or folded in so much it sounds like mono. The TOCJ is nice 'n wide, with the bass sounding like it's coming from beyond the right speaker. But I'm really interested in the the first track, "A Night In Tunisia." On all versions I've heard, the two above plus the Mosaic, the solo coda Lee does at the end features a real hard staccato note towards the end that just "pings" against the echo plate that RVG used. I've never heard this on vinyl, so I can't say if this is a "digital" problem. But it bugs the shit out of me...I wonder if it's been tamed? And I can't believe they altered the cover.... egads!
  19. MG, Those are JRVGs, 24 bit done by Rudy Von Schmoody. The TOCJ24s are new 24bit jewel-cased cds mastered by Toshiba engineers from their (Toshiba Japan) Lp masters.
  20. And I know my way around an equalizer too.
  21. Me too, Chuck. No problem here...but my system is perhaps less revealing than some...but very musical.
  22. Hope yer day is bitchin'...Happy B-day!
  23. "genuine" NM condition...
  24. Aren't you a dentist, too? I take it, that's not the kind of music played in YOUR office...heh...
  25. Bill Connors - Theme to the Gaurdian - ECM (German pressing) My first exposure to this guy... edited to correct the title.
