  1. Great stuff ! Even though I've got that Prestige Coltrane CD box I still like to bring out the RCA twofers on a regular basis. Us Coltrane fanatics are spoilt for choice these days and long may it last.. RCA Coltrane? You must mean Prestige, eh?
  2. Now that's funny! (internet revenge...)
  3. I've got that one - love the photo of Trane in deep thought on the cover. Nice music with Wilbur Harden too, will dig it out today. Yeah, this photo as reproduced here has quite a bit more impact than the one that comes with the cd.
  4. Wow...sounds like I need to re-evaluate this one. It's currently in my trade pile... I'll give it another chance, but like the original poster mentioned, this one has never connected with me. [taking it out of the trade pile...] Wouldn't be the first time I end up liking an album I had previously dismissed...
  5. John Coltrane - The Stardust Session - Prestige mid-70's two-fer. Just arrived today...Man...that cover photo is just awesome... But I think I'm gonna have to go listen to my cd of Boogaloo...after seeing sidewinder's recommendation for it here and in the Patton corner.
  6. "an interesting photo"??? Are you kidding me? Aaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!! I've been scarred for life!
  7. Steve Miller Band - Number 5 - Green Capitol label.
  8. Best wishes, jazzbo. I hope yer day is great!
  9. Whilst listening to: The Jimi Hendrix Concerts - Reprise These guys came out of hiding after the rainstorm...
  10. Man, but that discography in the booklet for the Coltrane set is just awesome. A great reference...especially for all the reissue equivalents.
  11. Pat Metheny - 80/81 - Sealed...well, it was... God, I love ECM vinyl...
  12. Right now I'm spinning a NM reissue of Miles' '61 Carnegie Hall set on Columbia. Says "electronically rechanneled for stereo", but I don't think it is. Enjoyable.
  13. I received beautifuly, minty Lps from the great cool blue. These are as nice as opened records can be. Clean. Thanks a bunch!
  14. Best wishes on your birthday, gents!
  15. Manufactured by UA, if'n you can see it in the pics.
  16. Horace Silver - The Stylings of Silver - Blue label 70's reissue. Cut corner. Looks (w/ the exception of the cut corner) and sounds perfect!
  17. Rollin' With Leo - Leo Parker - '86 issue, the 1st with the originally intended cover design. DMM - sounds fine. Promo copy.
  18. I really try to keep it clean at all times...Scout's honor.
  19. Actually I think I had some gunk on my stylus...gave it a thorough cleaning...sounds good on a different record now, but will have to relisten to Joe... Now spinning: Mal 2 - Mal Waldron - from the Prestige mid-70's two-fer "One & Two"
  20. Side 1 of a Blue/Black label of Joe Henderson's "Inner Urge." Sounded like total crap. I think this one may have groove damage... But I didn't remember this sounding this way...dirty maybe, but not distorted...
  21. Andrew Hill - Smoke Stack - Connoisseur Series vinyl mastered by Wally.
  22. Bill Evans Trio - The Vanguard Sessions - Milestone mid-70s two-fer.
  23. Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
  24. Is Edgar Winter the white Ricky Ricardo?
