  1. Best wishes, jazzbo. I hope yer day is great!
  2. Whilst listening to: The Jimi Hendrix Concerts - Reprise These guys came out of hiding after the rainstorm...
  3. Man, but that discography in the booklet for the Coltrane set is just awesome. A great reference...especially for all the reissue equivalents.
  4. Pat Metheny - 80/81 - Sealed...well, it was... God, I love ECM vinyl...
  5. Right now I'm spinning a NM reissue of Miles' '61 Carnegie Hall set on Columbia. Says "electronically rechanneled for stereo", but I don't think it is. Enjoyable.
  6. I received beautifuly, minty Lps from the great cool blue. These are as nice as opened records can be. Clean. Thanks a bunch!
  7. Best wishes on your birthday, gents!
  8. Manufactured by UA, if'n you can see it in the pics.
  9. Horace Silver - The Stylings of Silver - Blue label 70's reissue. Cut corner. Looks (w/ the exception of the cut corner) and sounds perfect!
  10. Rollin' With Leo - Leo Parker - '86 issue, the 1st with the originally intended cover design. DMM - sounds fine. Promo copy.
  11. I really try to keep it clean at all times...Scout's honor.
  12. Actually I think I had some gunk on my stylus...gave it a thorough cleaning...sounds good on a different record now, but will have to relisten to Joe... Now spinning: Mal 2 - Mal Waldron - from the Prestige mid-70's two-fer "One & Two"
  13. Side 1 of a Blue/Black label of Joe Henderson's "Inner Urge." Sounded like total crap. I think this one may have groove damage... But I didn't remember this sounding this way...dirty maybe, but not distorted...
  14. Andrew Hill - Smoke Stack - Connoisseur Series vinyl mastered by Wally.
  15. Bill Evans Trio - The Vanguard Sessions - Milestone mid-70s two-fer.
  16. Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
  17. Is Edgar Winter the white Ricky Ricardo?
  18. Is that Rick Derringer on guitar? This rocks. Ripppin' on the sax, too.
  19. Sorry chewy-chew-chew...no "Glamour Profession" last nite at Red Rocks. They did do "Hey Nineteen" and "Time Out of Mind", however. A wonderful night on the Rocks...and the smell of the "sticky-icky" was so thick and prevalent last nite that Fagen even commented, "lotta weed." All those old folks have the really good shit. Great show by the dirty Steely; they are locked in "groovetime." Nothing from the last two albums though... Excellent guitar playing by Becker and Jon Herrington. Becker played a lot of 'em, perhaps more than half of the solos. Michael McDonald joined 'em for the last few songs. However, I don't think they chose the best songs to feature/include him. Yeah, they did "Peg", but you couldn't even really hear him in the mix. A great opportunity, that I thought could've been better. I can't say anything nearly as complimentary about McDonald's opening set, though. His band is freakin' smoooooth...in a bad way. I thought his sax/flute player was absolutely devoid of any soul or emotion. He could do those Kenny G type contraptions, with lots of body language that makes this kind of crowd go wild. Barf... I only really dug the Doobie songs they did. Those were okay, but man...disappointed. Great, cool weather with a lingering threat of rain that never happended. Nice lightning show out over this city/plains though. The Dan: A- Mike McD: C God, I love that venue!
  20. Groove Holmes - Misty - Mono Blue label Prestige - Bergenfield NJ - yeah...
  21. Oh boy! It's on "sale"! Down to $34.99 from $39.99! Fuck that shit. I'll get the OJC... There's no earthly reason why these should cost this much... Shit, I hope this doesn't give Classic Records ideas...
  22. Pics?
  23. For me, it would be NO music...
  24. Ornette Coleman & Pat Metheny - Song X
  25. Happy Birthday!
