  1. I'd be interested in how "The Cooker" sounds in this new mastering. The JRVG says it's stereo, but it's been narrowed or folded in so much it sounds like mono. The TOCJ is nice 'n wide, with the bass sounding like it's coming from beyond the right speaker. But I'm really interested in the the first track, "A Night In Tunisia." On all versions I've heard, the two above plus the Mosaic, the solo coda Lee does at the end features a real hard staccato note towards the end that just "pings" against the echo plate that RVG used. I've never heard this on vinyl, so I can't say if this is a "digital" problem. But it bugs the shit out of me...I wonder if it's been tamed? And I can't believe they altered the cover.... egads!
  2. MG, Those are JRVGs, 24 bit done by Rudy Von Schmoody. The TOCJ24s are new 24bit jewel-cased cds mastered by Toshiba engineers from their (Toshiba Japan) Lp masters.
  3. And I know my way around an equalizer too.
  4. Me too, Chuck. No problem here...but my system is perhaps less revealing than some...but very musical.

  12. Thanks Claude, for the links! I just ordered Vol. 2. I think I have Volume 1, but it has a different cover than the one in Claude's links: Here's the one I have: ---------------------- Are these the same? They're both dated 1991...
  13. I've got a domestic cd issue of this. Mine has a little sticky-note on it that reads: Note to Shelley (my wife): Never play this cd!

  18. Some strange South American record on Columbia by Chicago called "New Gold Record." It has all their early hits and sounds great. The label is a bit messed up, causing a nasty sound when it hits the end of the record...

  21. What Larry said... She was hot for about a year and a half. But since she went "thin", she's really not nearly as attractive. I've liked her in movies and on SNL. She's funny and a natural performer. Been doin' it since she was a kid...
  22. Late to the party... Happy Belated Birthday, Shawn-na-na!
