JohnS Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 I'm playing Vol 1, almost the same cover. I have all the volumes of that one as well - time to dig it out. I have all three too. I've been meaning to pull them out for quite a while. They ramble a bit but more than listenable. Quote

soulpope Posted August 24, 2015 Report Posted August 24, 2015 Neu! - s/t - (Brain/Metronome, GER orig)A classic! I have minty originals of all 3...the first is the best though.I spun some German prog today myself:Gila "s/t" (second battle)Ibliss "supernova" (speigelie)Probably SPIEGELEI ? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted August 24, 2015 Report Posted August 24, 2015 Still need that Wounded Knee Gila LP. Someday...The only records I have on the Spiegelei label are jazz albums - Freedom releases and so forth. Quote
Homefromtheforest Posted August 24, 2015 Report Posted August 24, 2015 Oops. Spelling obviously not my strong point; especially with German words it seems I have a later 70s pressing of the second Gila album; it's a really nice album with a strong Popol Vuh touch. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted August 25, 2015 Report Posted August 25, 2015 Randy - s/t - (C Life Records)deep, Nick Cave-like crooning over home recordings of piano, flutes and percussion lent a very austere, lo-fi quality. Earnest and trippy 'outsider' recordings and rather hard to find. Quote

HutchFan Posted August 26, 2015 Report Posted August 26, 2015 Marian McPartland - InterplayMongo '70Morrissey-Mullen - Cape WrathGato Barbieri - Alive in NY, Chapter 4 That Marian McPartland record is FANTASTIC, imho. And not at all what one might expect from her; it's much more hard-charging and aggressive. In fact, on that particular record, McPartland's playing reminds me a bit of Joanne Brackeen's style in the 1970s. Concord has reissued most of McPartland's Halcyon LP on CD, but I don't think they've ever gotten 'round to Interplay. And that's a shame -- because I think it's one of MM's very best records. Quote
