Johnny Griffin - A Blowing Session (Vinyl Me Please). 45 rpm pressing means you have to get up every 8-10 minutes but it sounds pretty good. I forget how insane some of these tempos were and how these insane tempos don't seem to be Mobley's forte.

The Paul Guerrero Quintet featuring Marchel Ivery & James Clay - Texas Tenors (Jazz Mark Records/Craig Recording). Nice date. Never heard of the rhythm section but those two tenor players' names certainly caught my attention. :)

Playing this one again. I see it's now going for big bucks on discogs. It's a nice date but I wouldn't pay $60 for it. :)

I've caught Ostvang and the rest of the rhythm section a couple of times at Elastic this year and maybe last year too. Very impressive.

Pretty Baby soundtrack. I think I've said here before that this is one of the great unknown New Orleans trad jazz/ragtime albums, with Kid Thomas Valentine, Louis Cottrell, Raymond Burke, and the New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra on board. There's even a vocal by James Booker on Jelly Roll Morton's "Whinin' Boy."
