Uneven session, but Nathan Davis is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C here and worth the price of entry alone ....

I'd agree Nathan Davis is on fire. I love his playing generally but this is on a whole other level. Recorded sound from this set is excellent too for anyone on the fence.

Anthony Joseph - Time

probably my least favorite Anthony Joseph album, but still has many quality moments. Meshall Ndegeocello producing the album reduced the rawness that make Anthony Joseph so wonderful.

Is that 1970 issue the blue/black label one ?

I remember sitting in Hal's apartment with the whole crew -- musicians, families, girlfriends, etc. but not Joe Daley himself -- as they reacted to the then brand new album. A high-spirited, rather prickly, touchy gathering.. Joe's contributions did not escape criticism IIRC.

Where was his apartment then. I later spent time in him and his wife at their home in Lyons circa 1980.
