I have seen it a few times on Instagram so there's hope, even if it is just a download-only Bandcamp thing. It sounds quite a lot like 70s spiritual jazz, so if you like Strata East / Black Jazz, etc., you might enjoy it. Worth tracking down. Quote

Like so many others I bet it's hardly got a hint of the spiritual to it. Just marketing these days. Quote

It's a bit of a disappointment for me because of that. I hear you, but this isn't the kind of album I put on to hear stellar singing. I have about 30 other Sinatra albums I can do that with. Quote
JSngry Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 Having seen Sinatra live in Vegas (Caesar's) and in better voice than here, I don't really need the Sands record. Quote

mjazzg Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 I checked that Raushiek too, interesting. Sadly not so cheap to here Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 yeah, overseas cheapies are best ordered in bulk. Quote

They definitely evolved into something different. It's hard for me to hear this music objectively because I grew up listening to The Crusaders (Mk II) as a kid. My dad had several of their albums and played them often. OTOH, I only discovered the Jazz Crusaders in adulthood. Edited November 12, 2024 by HutchFan Quote
