'Bite Hard' - Music de Wolfe collection of 70s library music.

I am OBSESSED with tracks 4 and 5 from this collection.

Track 4 - 'Spiro' by Anton Valotti, 1975

Track 5 - 'Collect' by Alan Hawkshaw 1972.

My faves are side 1 track 6 ('Main Chance' - Parker/Parish), track 5 on side 2 ('Condition Red' - Barry Stoller 1972) and track 6 on side 2 ('Hot Ice' - Alan Parker 1974). Cheesy but damn good. :g

Yes, those are the two tracks.

I remember "Main Chance" but don't remember the other two offhand. I have the CD - I'll have to give it a spin.

A CD doesn't really 'spin': it's a cold and mercyless laser that count holes...and it isn't John Lennon, so do yourself a favour and get the LP. :D

Now SPINNING Lou Donaldson - Mr. Shing-a-ling - BN Liberty.

Now they know how many holes it takes to fill a CD.

Today is vinyl day:

First, Sam Most's Debut LP from the Xanadu reissue

Second, Bill Evans with Jeremy Steig, What's New (Verve)

now: Dexter Gordon & Slide Hampton, A Day In Copenhagen (MPS)

- this is a killer album, with Dexter in top form swinging like mad and a slightly knife-edged tone similar to Yusef Lateef's - highly recommended. Dizzy Reece is in the band, too, and Kenny Drew, NHÖP and Art Taylor.

Great LP. Particularly like Art Taylor on this one.
