Daniel A
Kenny Burrell 'Freedom' (King BN GXK) This is one of those albums I've been looking for, but it always seems too expensive. Worth the top dollar?
sidewinder
Kenny Burrell 'Freedom' (King BN GXK) This is one of those albums I've been looking for, but it always seems too expensive. Worth the top dollar? Yes, I think so. A nice, laid back session with some strong Turrentine. Not unlike 'Midnight Blue', also with Ray Barretto. If it hasn't already come out on CD, Blue Note should really think about reissuing it I think (paging Mr Cuscuna..... )
Clunky
Anthony Braxton For Trio Arista - in preparation for the Mosaic (possibly) this is hardly what I'd call accessible material,......... how will the Mosaic cope with try to emulating the weird diagrams offered on the original cover , insert etc. Perhaps Braxton's muse will be more easily assimilated without all that........ A lot of the early works have since been given simpler alpha-numeric or numeric titles.
sidewinder
I used to use Braxton's tune titles as help with my organic chemistry homework. Now spinning Bobby Hutcherson 'The View From The Inside' (BN blue label, stereo)

six string
John Tchicai, Cadentia Nova Danica; UK Polydor Great album! I have a Japanese cd of it that I found in Avignon while on vacation but I've never seen a vinyl copy. Hell, I've never seen another cd of it either. Was playing Black Drops - Charles Earland (Prestige) Purple label Next Willis Jackson's Bar Wars on Muse w/Mr. Earland and Pat Martino. paul secor
Baby Face Willette: Stop and Listen (BN - "Wally") Listening to this one, I started wondering why Baby Face never made it. Too subtle for the average organ fan? Bad timing - too much competition with other organists? Lifestyle problems?

Daniel A
Victor Feldman 'Your Smile' (Choice Records, 1974) A somewhat uneven but occasionally beatiful affair, with Tom Scott in atypically jazzy form.
