Actually, I'm not sure I even knew what inimitable meant until I just looked it up. I think this is the only album I have heard him on but he does good work. Cleve is a fascinating character. Go onto youtube and search bata to see what Cleve the instrument-maker has been up to lately. I wholeheartedly recommend his Cleve Solo Percussion LP (private-press) and the Savoy vinyl of Good Golly Miss Nancy, not to mention his STUNNING turn with Bill Dixon on Intents and Purposes (RCA-Victor). I'll bet the condition of this one is a lot better than the description would tend to indicate. Factory sample too. There have been some less than good copies of this one on ebay in the last few years (not many in total) but I'll bet this isn't one of them.
