Al in NYC Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Disc One Now on disc two. The string quartet tracks are amazing. I could listen to this set every day, particularly those tracks on disc 2. I've had them on my ipod for about 5 years now. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Disc One Now on disc two. The string quartet tracks are amazing. I could listen to this set every day, particularly those tracks on disc 2. I've had them on my ipod for about 5 years now. The whole set is great, but disc #3 is one of my all-time desert island discs. Some of the most amazing, "go for broke" playing from Woody Shaw anywhere on record. Warts and all, disc #3 is simply one of discs I treasure most in my entire collection. Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 The complete Blue Note Horace Parlan sessions now on disc 2. I like all of this, but particularly the sessions without some of my favourite musicians on horns and guitar. Dunno why. Perhaps it's just that I haven't started on those sessions yet MG Quote
