I have the George Russell & the Hal McKusick, as well as the ARRANGERS cd, mentioned elsewhere, that contains the Johnny Carisi session. What else came out in this RCA series?

Wasn't there some Rod Levitt stuff in there too?

Don't think that was part of the Jazz Workshop series. The Levitt was much later (1964-65). The others were all 1955-56. You might be getting confused because there was the Bluebird CD The Arrangers that had the Carisi and McKusick Jazz Workshop stuff along with Levitt material.

The Rod Levitt RCA albums were not part of the Jazz Workshop series. The Levitts (mid-1960s) were recorded almost a decade later on and were produced by Brad McCuen, not Jack Lewis (the man behind the Jazz Workshop series).

Is this stuff on cd anywhere? And in what quality?

Most of the Jazz Workshop albums have been reissued by RCA Spain and are available

via Fresh Sounds. The only reissue I heard is the Hal McKusick and the sound does not

compare - even by far - to the sound of the original LP (or even the French RCA LP reissue).

The sound of many Fresh Sound reissues pales in comparison to the originals.
