Koo-pon.

Kitty Korner.

Poo-Pawn.

A moot point no longer matters because the boots are slogging through Big Muddy, even if said moot point argues convincingly that they should never have been sent there (oops, sorry if too political).

A mute point? Somebody was gagged so they couldn't make their point?

Or -- is there a point somewhere on this? -->Harmon_Straight.jpg

"jig uh low" or "gig uh low"

I've always wondered why most people pronounce gigolo as jig uh low insteag of gig uh low. I was just corrected (again) the other day by Michael Cuscuna when talking about lee Morgan's CD of that name. I've always said gig uh low. He said, "haven't you ever heard the tune, "I'm just a gigolo?" (which he pronounced jig a low)

Kevin

Que-pon or Koo-pon.

Kitty Korner or Catty Corner.

Poop-on or Poo-Pawn.

"Que-pon"? That would be "Kay-pon", no senor? ;)

I think you were going for "Cue-pon" vs Koo-pon (I've said it both ways, but I'd lean more toward Koo (as in "Ool ya KOOpon" B-) ).

boot/moot, cute/mute. I mean, DUH?!?! (I hope and pray that your wife was the one who was sarong, Al)... old pal... :):w:g

As long as I'm here, how about the word "route"?

rhymes with "root" or rhymes with "rout"? You don't hear Nat singing "rout" 66, but some people say "I took a different "rout" to get there". I tend to go with Nat on this one.

In French, g before e or i is soft, before a, o, or u it is hard.
