Man with the Golden Arm Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 My vote is solely on turf. If it was fake stuff I'd give it to the Eagels but ... Super Turf. Quote
Noj Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 I'm not giving the Eagles much of a chance here, though I'll be pulling for them against the Pats. I think the Steelers were a better team than the injury-riddled Eagles are at this point. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 alot of peeps say the pats are gonna destroy the eagles the pats don't really destroy anyone all there games are usually close this guy at work picked the colts and steelers vs the pats and NOW he is goin' with the pats..... TOOOOO late buddy ss1 Quote
Dan Gould Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 I'm picking the Pats and rooting for them, but I do think this has the potential to be a decent game, with or without T.O. The one problem I see is that the Eagles aren't great with run defense and if running sets up Brady's pinpoint, no mistakes passing, it could be a long night for Philly, regardless of what McNabb may do. Quote
sal Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 McNabb is a great QB, no doubt. But that won't mean anything. You can't stop the Patriots offense. Brady is the best, and also the smartest, QB in the NFL right now, and his offense will simply overrun the Eagles. If the Steelers couldn't stop it, how can Philly? Quote
sjarrell Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 The one problem I see is that the Eagles aren't great with run defense... Weren't Altlanta #1 rushing in the NFL this season? The Eagles shut that down pretty handily. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Pats. I hate these FL venues. Super Bowl teams should face off in deep chill outdoor stadiums up north w/flurries, etc...and not some Lemonade Bowl. Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Pats should win this one handily. This is not to slight the Eagles in any way, but they are not in the same class. Pats beat them in the preseason this year (and last year as well!) And they beat the Eagles handily at Philly last year. Preseason is preseason, but the Eagles have shown the Patriots nothing so far. It is true that the Patriots rarely blow anybody out. That's not their game. They like closer contests where smarts and good organization make the difference. McNabb is having a terrific year, but he doesn't have the weapons Brady has. And Brady has the big game experience. Pats defense should be better than the Eagles' defense. Richard Seymour should return for this game. Quote
chris olivarez Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Pats. They're the defending champion until proven otherwise. Quote

jazzmessenger Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I voted for the Patriots. It's hard to vote against them. They never lose playoffs. Quote
Bright Moments Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 i voted for the pats. now please pass the cheese steak! Quote

The Eagles shut that down pretty handily. Yeah, but Atlanta didn't have a serious passing attack to worry about. The Pats do. That makes an enormous difference. Quote
Brad Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 This won't be even close man. No T.O. or a very limited one. They lost their tight end who scored 2 TDs last week. This will probably be ugly. I heard the spread is 6.5 points. That's way too generous. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I voted for the Patriots. It's hard to vote against them. They never lose playoffs. Don't tell the Bears about this one...okay, so I'm old. Quote
JSngry Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Pulling Eagles (STRONGLY!) but betting Patriots. Quote

Soulstation1 Posted February 1, 2005 Author Report Posted February 1, 2005 for me the best thing about the super bowl is that pittsburgh is not in j-ville this week. Quote
